I keep receiving emails

Hello!

As the title states, I keep receiving topic reply notifications via email. This is not something I want, and also not something I have turned on anywhere. I am not subscribed to any topics and when I look in my settings I seem to have all the toggles off but I must be missing something cause when I go to Manage Subscriptions I find a whole list of threads I am receiving updates for.

What seems to be the problem is that it seems like I automatically get subscribed whenever I post in any topic, and I then manually have to unsubscribe every time. This is not what I want though!

I have searched and searched but I cannot find a way to turn this off! Can anyone help me? Thanks!!

The setting to toggle this off is a bit hidden. Go to My Account --> Board Preferences --> Edit posting defaults, and then set "Notify me upon replies by default" to "No". That should stop you from being automatically notified from any new posts in threads that you've posted in.

I have already toggled that off, thought it would solve it but it didn't sadly..

Ah, unfortunately then I don't know what's going on either, sorry! The only thing I could think of is that you might have accidentally subscribed to an entire forum and are getting notifications for every post in that forum, but that should be fixable from the "My subscriptions" tab as well. Otherwise you might want to try re-doing all your settings using the "reset" button at the bottom of every page, just in case turning things off and on again somehow fixes it.

If you don't find a way to turn off being automatically subscribed you might need to send in a help ticket to see whether staff can do something about it.

To unsubscribe from a topic click manage subscriptions and select the topics you want to unsubscribe from then click “unwatch marked” to stop receiving notifications on those topics. The “notify me when a reply is posted” check box is close to the “submit” button so you could have subscribed on accident when you replied (that has happened to me before).
