What will the energised crystal be used for? (2021 Cave Even

I have an energised crystal and I'm not sure if it's just an item or if I'm supposed to trade it in for something

    It's not currently being used for anything, but it might be later!

    Right now, in the storyline it gives the portal enough power to stay open :)
