Where do items on pets go when traded away?

I feel like I should know this by now haha but when you trade away a pet that has items on it, I just wanted to confirm that the items automatically return to your item collection, correct? Or do they get transferred along with the pet?

they get returned to you i believe!

ford is correct! any items on a pet that is traded away will be automatically returned to your collection :)
