Date Swaps?

Are date swaps worth it? if I have an original date pet and someone is asking for a date swap and additionally offering other pets to sweeten the deal, is it worth it? Whats the point in a date swap anyways? isn't the pet still the same and therefore of the same price/demand when trading it? Or is the original date worth more because it's ''age'' is better?

From what I've heard and seen around, original date is worth more/more highly valued that a 're-release'

technically, a re-release is worth the same as a true date pet but especially when it comes to older pets, true dates are in more demand and especially collectors are often offering a little more than just a plain swap. i personally prefer true dates in my collection groups because the pets then appear in the right order of their release, it looks tidier than if a pet from 2009 randomly sits within the 2017 pets in the same group because it's a re-release.
