auction query - answered, please lock!

hey all, couldn't find the answer ;;
are auctions allowed to have "private bids"? as in, no link is provided, or any details as to the bid, owing to the bidder asking for it to be private.

I'm just questioning it because I'm wondering how players are supposed to outbid a bid that's private, if there is no information to go off of?

I checked the cs auction rules but didn't find anything, or any other info relating to this subject matter. any help would be appreciated! (:

Users can have private bids if they'd like, there's no rule stating they have to publicly share every bid they get. The majority of users do share the bids they receive since it's easier to show what they like/dislike from each bid and allow other users to see what is already offered if they wish to outbid.

At the end of the day it's up to you on how much you feel like bidding for a pet/item, so I'd advise caution with any statement of private bids since there's no proof the bid actually exists.
