What are “nons?”

I know they’re important when it comes to trading for lists and really high demand pets, which is why I’m trying to learn exactly what they are. If someone could give me an easily understood explanation, I’d really appreciate it <3

A non is a nonjewel, nonswirl, noncoon, or nontag - they're referred to as "non" since they all are missing something they're litter mates dont have.

Now are nons considered list pets, or are their more popular litter mates only considered list pets?

On the rares list, now discontinued for being sorely incorrect, the nons and their littermates were fairly high up on the main list (the more valuable of the three lists). Over time nons pretty much just became a unit of measure. So one pet might be worth two 'nons,' so to trade for it you would need to offer two 'nons-worth,' be it the actual non dogs or other pets and items that add up to the non amount needed. Nons at the moment are worth roughly 100-150 mixed '09 rares, depending on who you go to, but this like any other pet evaluation is subjective. Since the rares list is discontinued, calling pets 'list pets' just refers to their old placement on the list.
