So, about that whole 'add a background' thing...

I searched around, got directed to a few topics about adding backgrounds to your pet (drop on pet, click 'rearrange', then the green down button, etc.)

I ran into two issues:

1) even following instructions, with the background settling behind the pet and saved that way, when I went to the pet's page, it still covered the pet up.

2) When trying to remove the background after my third attempt at trying to get it to behave itself and stay behind my cat like it's supposed to...it won't let me take it back off, even though it shows it did (like it showed to be behind the cat) while in edit mode.

So, at this point, I just want to figure out how to get the 'remove all' button to work one more time so I can leave the background out of the picture...

That sounds like a problem with cache - your browser will 'remember' that the pet's image had the background and show that to you, instead of checking whether your pet's image changed. It should fix itself, but if you don't want to wait, Ctrl-F5 on windows should work (or look up how to hard-refresh on your OS of choice).
