Light on/off?

When I’ve been looking for trades lately I’ve seen this little thing at the bottom at the persons forum that says something along the lines of ‘Lights On’ or ‘Lights Off’ usually there’s a gif thing with it or something. Can someone please tell me what this means?

Heya; "Lights On, Lights Off" is a user-run gifting game that's traditionally run during October. You can find more info on it here, but the basic gist is that you dress up one of your pets as a trick-or-treater, and message other players who have their status set to "lights on" with a little story to potentially receive a little gift (sometimes people may just respond with a "trick", of course!). In turn, you, too will of course receive t-o-t messages from other players and can send them something in response.

If you're interested it's best to read through the thread info properly, though, as it has rules and guidelines and does require users to sign up in order to participate.^^
