??? What is the paperclip challenge?

What is the paperclip challenge? I've seen many people putting stuff in their trade rules like "I don't support the paperclip challenge/trades" and I'm just curious as to what that is. Thanks to anyone who responds!!! I might bump this a few times until I get an answer just so people see it and know to respond to it.

The paper clip challenge is basically trading up pets until you reach a certain goal, usually a list.
For example, you offer a 2018 OMG So Common and the other person gives you a 2017 common. You then use that 2017 common to get let’s say a 2015 uncommon. Then you trade that 2015 uncommon for maybe a 2014 rare, so on and so forth, all with different people.
It’s just trading a lower value pet for a higher value pet until you get a certain pet or rarity, essentially.
