One way to get pets would be to adopt the pets that are released each month! New pets get released every month, so be sure to adopt them. You can also receive pets from the pound when it's open. You can only adopt one pet from the pound before having to wait 3 hours until you can adopt from the pound again. Chicken Dollars (C$) can also be purchased and traded for pets from other users or you can use it to adopt current store pets in the store. (Purchasing C$ requires real-life currency.) Lastly, you can receive pets by trading with other users.

You can also receive pets from December 18th, though that event only happens once a year.
(December 18th is an event where every user receives re-releases of old pets. Store pets do not get re-released though!)
