I've looked through, and I definitely think I can make a night mode extension.
Wouldn't be as pretty as official CS skins, but would be like a night mode. Anyone interested? I won't bother with publishing if it's not something people would like, but if any of you do want it I can publish it and make instructions for applying it to the site.

I support this, and @burrito bunny i'd be super interested.

in the meantime i personally use CS Space or dullgrey and that helps a lot
with eyestrain, especially when I'm coding forms all night. I also had a friend
who somehow got a night mode, i'll ask her about it and edit this if it comes
of anything! edit; it was a chrome extension and she said it's okay for mild
browsing but and i quote "it's kinda sucky". I suspect that it wasn't an extension
made for CS forums- so an extension made specifically for CS might be the best
route if one isn't directly implemented into the site.

@burrito bunny - I too am interested in that! Though I have to agree with na'vi that depending on whats up eventually an official skin would be an optimal way to go
