i agree. every time i send a trade and then that message pops up in my inbox i get really sad. i know it's just pixels, but i really love animals so in my head it's like i'm hurting a real animal. i feel bad about something as simple as making a trade, and i think it would be nice if it was like the example posted above or maybe even something nicer like:

"I remember the day you adopted me from the pound, and you've been a wonderful owner! I'm sad leave you but I know my new owner will treat me nicely as well! I just wanted to make sure you're sure about this trade "

I think this is especially important to COPPA players but it even important to me, and I'm not a COPPA player.

This would be an awesome change!

I do agree that it could be better, but those instances happen many times a week in irl pounds. If pounds/shelters run out of space, they will euthanize dogs (mainly pitbulls) to get more space.

Yeah I agree, this message teaches this important and devastating event happening all over the world, but I'm also a bit confused because the auto message also includes a link to the actual trade saying "View the trade that is sending me away" or something. The message itself teaches an important lesson but I think that by adding the link, it can make you feel like physically trading CS pound pets away is bad.

I agree that the message is a bit harsh. I think that the message was probably implemented in the first place to try to discourage people from just using the pound as a source for trading fodder, and instead as a place to get pets users genuinely wanted, but they should make that clear on the pound page. Instead the page just says that the pound is somewhere to get pets, and then sends users a pretty upsetting message out of the blue when people try to trade them away. Some people aren’t affected by it, but little 13 year old me was very upset when she got that message for the first time and I think it’s good to remember that this is a site with a large user base of children.

Nobody needs to be taught that pets are euthanized in pounds. If someone doesn't know that, they're probably a child, and they don't need to be told. It's upsetting and does no good, children can't go out and adopt pets. If they're an adult capable of adopting a pet and saving it, they probably know already that there's a need to do so.

if you go into your messages > Rules, folders & settings > add new rule
make the rule "if sender is [insert your username] delete message". it will still show that you got a new message, but when you go to see it, it will say "one private message has been removed due to private message filters". it helps me so I don't have to see the sad and heartwrenching message, but I still know it's there.

I couldn't agree more.
I was so sad when I got the message the first time. I think I was sending a trade for
one of my dreamies, then got the message. I felt so bad, and cancelled the trade.

I agree that it should at least be changed to something less harsh, if not deleted entirely.
that's just my opinion, though.

Yeah, definitely. It makes me feel like I’m betraying them in a way. I don’t know. I’ve kinda just ignored it at this point but I think the message needs to be changed anyhow.
