Wrong Date on Pet

I just got a cat from the pound with a date of 2010-04-13 #13166603 see Picture.

In the Archives it shows as February 2009... I thought re-releases only happen in December, What happened? Which is the right date.

i believe some pets have extended releases and are available after the release date.

But the date on this cat is a year later than originally released. They usually only get released for the month they were released in.

I have a similar pet. I sent a message to the admins to see what was going on. They told me that pets like this were true dates that were in a trade. then after the trade the new owner traded it away. Not long after that the original person who traded it away requested the site to force a trade back based on being scammed. the site couldn't take it from the new owner based on it being a fair trade the second time around so they went into the system and created a new one to give back to the scammed person. here is a link to my one.

Your little one actually has the correct date per the Archive. It just seems weird if they made a new one for that person they would give it a different date...

Wrong dates happen if an admin gives/makes a pet which got deleted etc. I had a Toxic with a strange date in the past and recieved a Malk Dragon with a wrong date shortly:

What you are describing is a recreated pet. Recreated pets get a new ID, not a new date. For example, a recreated pet may have a 2009 date, but it could sit in the middle of your 2017 pets due to the more recent ID.

Pets with odd dates are either rereleases or extended releases as explained in my previous post.
