archive suggestion : search feature?

would've put this in the topic tess created, but that seemed only avaliable to those with problems.

anyways, here's just a quick suggestion! instead of having 38 options to choose from, slim it down to the basic 7 off of the adoption page. then, have subgroups? it can be quite frustrating for some users who, for example, may be in search of rodents (as an umbrella term), but have to go through 4 different search options. i feel like it would be much more neat and effective.

here's an example as to how it could be. when going to one of the selected, for example, cats, all cats (including malk & lions) would show up. when going into a more "specific search" would you then look for just lions. this would save effort for some hoarders. those who may want to hoard dogs (including the malk + nick) would want to simply click dogs when wishing to set up their wishlist, instead of having to search through 3 different archives that are set now.

birds, or hatchery, (specify owl, chicken)
butterfly wolves
cats (spec. cats, malk cat, lion)
dogs/wolves (spec. dog, malk dog, malk wolf, nick dog)
horses (spec. draft horse, horse, malk horse, nick horse, tess horse, unicorn, zebra)
rodents (spec. dwarf hamster, guinea pig, rat, syrian hamster)
other species (spec. bat, betta, bunny, chameleon*, deer, eastern dragon*, fennec fox, koi, malk dragon*, malk fox, monkey, spider, squid, tess dragon*, tree, western dragon*)

*these pets technically came from the hatchery group off of the adoption page. therefore instead of placing them with other species, they could be placed into the birds group (then named hatchery). but to save confusion, it is recommended to keep them in the other species.

I support this, I think it would be helpful and make searching easier.

As long as there's an option to filter just the "regular" dogs, cats etc. still, I like this idea!

I like this suggestion! I've seen some users want to collect e.g. all equines, all hamsters, all rodents, all dragons (maybe have a "dragons" category?)

i know i made this post awhile ago but i still stand by it. i really do think having a better way to filter through the archives would be helpful. i think having seven main groups would be helpful, then being able to specify from there would be even better. as i mentioned, what could happen would be this: say you're looking for rodents. not a specific kind, just all rodents. if you were to enter in rodents, all show up. rats, hamsters, dwarf hamsters, etc. you would not have to click through 4 different groups with the way the archives are set up now. this has only gotten a few replies, but i know others agree would love to see a change in the archives. they're very outdated and hard to navigate through. please consider !
