I was re-organizing my pets earlier when I found a nick rat (the ones from September). It is a PPS, so fully grown, and from last month, so it should have a rarity. It does not.

Why is his rarity unknown? Is there a problem with his code or is there something I'm not getting here?

The outcomes of that rat are not finished. Because its litter mates do not have a rarity, it will not also.

But the non-PPS of that rat are uncommon, its littermates do have rarity.

They have a rarity but they are a little wonky atm because Nick isn't finished witht he lineart, I believe

This is just speculation:

Nick usually sets the rarities of pets once a month. When this happens, every single adult pet in the database that has already been released gets a rarity (or gets an updated rarity if it's from a past month). In late September, Nick set the rarities so that all the September pets would now have rarities when they were full-grown. At that point, only the baby Nick rat image was in the database, so every Nick rat received its rarity because it was considered to be full-grown. Then Nick added the PPS rat image, which is where the problem is. Since the PPS rat image was added after the rarity update, it missed the cut and therefore won't receive a rarity until the next time Nick sets the rarities.
