When does the rarity of new pets show?

I'm pretty new here, joined Jan. 8th 2012. The January pets don't have a rarity yet. So I want to know how long you have to wait to see the rarity of pets (Ex. Common, Uncommon, Rare, etc) after they are born. Thanks.

It is complicated... It depends on the pet itself and what day you got it! Sorry, wish I could be of more help but that is pretty much it?!
