I actually already made one, but I guess it doesn't hurt if you make on too. Especially since I'm not sure if this will help at all.

I realize why it didn't work, it is because I started on a UN checkered page! But I love my drawing! How do I make it checkered??? (BTW I thank you both SO MUCH! I am really happy! Thank you both for your time, this has really helped me!)

Just take away the first layer :) You can either delete it completely, or I prefer to just click the little black button at the side of the layer so it turns white.

(I know this may e kinda annoying but....) I really like my lineart, do I have to delete it completely and make a new one on checkered pages?

It's not annoying, it's alright to ask!
You can do as Indigo.Bronco suggested earlier; make a new layer, keep it above the lineart-layer - now, see where it says "Normal" in the box where you can make and remove layers and change setting? Click on that, and change it to "Multiply." It will make a slight hue to the lineart when you colour it, but I think this is the best option you have now. :]
