Most sites have things like that banned from the start, I don't know why CS doesn't. It is kind of hard to police that sort of thing after bringing a ban in, though, because a lot of people have rapidly moving sigs/avatars that don't have neon/bright colors in them, but are still an eyesore.

I'd normally say to just turn sigs/avatars off, but they should have been banned from the start.

I completely support this. I don't suffer from seizures caused by flashing, but those things give me headaches.

I believe rapidly flashing images is already reportable, as far as I'm aware.
But I agree, it would be great if the ban for seizure causing images/animations was more noticeable.

Tiki told me that there's nothing against them, and any reports that I've managed to send off were ignored. :/ Hence this proposal.

At least, I am not aware of any rules regarding flashing images in signatures, and I have yet to see a report about it to even ask what to do about it. But, support, none-the-less. I'm not epileptic, but I still get mild headaches from them.

There is a rule against it though. Since like 2008 and every year this comes up again.

I can't find the one from 2009 but I remember Takora started it and Tess or Nick posted in it.

Yeah, Nick too posted on the topic -Firestar- mentioned;

Nick wrote:The large flashing background is annoying anyway, even if you're not epileptic. We certainly don't want images on the forum with that much flashing content, so message me to point out offenders.. :)

So I'm thinking it's against the rules to post images that can cause seizures. ovo;;

Welp, learning something new every day. X3 So, I guess the answer is to just PM one of our Admins or Admin Assistants if you see any of these images. They'll take care of it. ^.^

Gonna go ahead and lock this, since we have an answer. :3 Much thanks to Firestar and Tuike. ^.^

Just to confirm on this issue, rapidly flashing signature images or avatars aren't allowed on CS, and they are removed by the admins when we come across them. :3 Only the admins and admin assistants (I think) are able to alter people's signatures and avatars, so it sometimes takes longer for those things to get removed than if they were in a thread or somewhere that mods can edit, since the admins aren't always immediately available, but they do get taken down. If the person's online at the time that the report is seen, we (the mods) might send them a PM asking them to remove the offending image, too, since people are often relatively willing to take those things out once they realize it's causing a problem for others.

If you see seizure-risk images, please report them by either reporting a post the person has made and explaining the issue in the report message box or by PMing a mod/admin assistant with a link to the person's profile, and we'll take care of it as soon as we can. :3 A few of our staff members are also sensitive to those kinds of things, myself included, and we certainly don't want people suffering seizures or other medical issues from someone's signature/avatar.
