How on earth are some pets worth so much?

I know, some pets are just too expensive. I've gotten really discouraged to the point of hating this site because the older players have all the power in the game. I feel like I'm never going to get my wishlist pets or complete anything because I joined late 2018. It's really depressing.

it is possible! i completed my wishlist collection around february of this year! it took 5 years, but it did happen c:
