Gimp usage: Alpha Lock?

Postby sneakthief » Sun Aug 28, 2011 3:29 pm

Hey folks. Real quick question...how do I use alpha lock to 'color inside the lines'? I can use it to color lines, but I haven't yet figured out how to make it so that I only color within my lineart. Any solutions out there?

Currently, all my layers are Normal, and go in this order

the gimp alpha lock, much like the oekaki's, requires something to be on the layer that you're going to color on.
make a new layer under your lines, color in on the inside of it as neat as you can, and switch on the alpha lock.

it should work. i only use gimp to cut it stock pictures now-a-days.
