Personality:
Chrion {pronounced Creon} will often be assumed as a result of his breed to be a docile, mellow, easy going stallion who despite his large size tends to obey the instructions of the reins and stirrup without question. This is all quite true. Chrion, while used as a main breeding stallion, wouldn’t be the type to be able to hold down a herd in the wild. He’s a bit of a pushover, not so much that when attacked he’ll just submit but he will accept the nipping of mares or tolerate comments from stallions of higher breeding in the stables. Passive in nature he tends to only ever get more anxious when in the show ring. However he’s a confident mover, and so while he does get skittish that is very rare for him. He’s not very competitive, usually just having fun while he’s out there. Though if he does particularly well even he can’t resist pointing out how well he may have done to one of the mares or more intolerable males he houses with.
One thing he hates above all else is bathing. Being bathed is possibly one of the things he hates worst at the barn, all thanks to an accident that happened to him as a foal. He’ll become wide eyed and immediately aggressive at these times, giving warning signs at first, but then resorting to nipping or even bucking if he feels he must. He has to be cross-tied in the stable and bathed there. He’s currently undergoing therapy for this.
He has a bit of a harder hoof than most, a good muscled structure and a thick arched neck. He works well as a breeding stallion, not very picky with his mares. He’s also very hardworking, not afraid to get dirty or do what he has to. Though, since he hates taking baths and doesn’t mind getting dirty he’ll often enough have a bit of a stench from rolling in the grass or mud. He loves competing, but hates being prepared for compettions.
History:
Chrion was purchased from a proper breeder. Unlike Alida, who was more of a ‘backyard breeder.’ Something truly frowned upon in the world of breeding. Chrion comes from a strong bloodline of barrel racers, though he’s now mainly shown for the halter because of his fantastic conformation and pretty coat patterns. He’s also a good flat racing horse surprising enough, though since it’s so dangerous his rider refrains from using him in such races.

Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:
Personality:
Alida is one of classic examples of the spirited mares who are raised in the Solstice stables, self-endowed with immense sheen of pride within and the will to switch anything that implements from ambitions out of the way. Beguiling towards the majority of the stallions with a self-engrossed flaming temper its hard to cut her attitude under control as thieving, dominant stallions try to seduce or sway her.
Few out of every little bits of horses in Solstice herd have ever gained her trust, but curiously enough the friendships she does forge usually burns down to embers in utter betrayal. Making her distrustful and hesitant. Like the fair majority of the mares with flirty stallions who come around to extend their brood she plays hard to get, keeping the stallions on their toes. It seems she maybe is too untameable to be kept within any herd of brood, maybe a little too feral due to her origin.
History:
Alida was purchased at an auction. A well-known horse breeder purchased several acres of land and would let his herd roam free, letting natural selection take its course and then sell whatever foals came in the birthing months. He had several herds in fact, some of the males would become loners by the end of the season as other males would take their herd. Every season he’d go through his stock and get rid of the fieriest horses or any ‘left over’ or unneeded stallions that were no longer useful to the breeding program. Having been raised in a place where horses run free that’s how he believed they should be raised and bred. Alida was one of the foals born, and having the temper she did she was culled and sold. We found her on the market when she was no more than two years old. She was pretty so he’d hoped to keep her as a brood, but her temperament made him unwilling to breed her at all. We purchased her and have been training her since, and while she’s been broken and is ride-able now she’s not bomb proof.
