The astonishingly gorgeous #5
Liocko Name:
Jezriel
Simply because I think it suits her personality. She's sort of like Jezebel but she actually realizes her mistake....and isn't quite as bad. Plus I think it sounds really pretty and its fun to say out loud XD
Backstory:
Jezriel slipped smoothly through the thick underbrush, her whiskers twitched faintly and her eyes narrowed. She had been alone for quite some time now, and frankly she wasn't enjoying it as much as she had thought she would. Though Jezriel was an accomplished huntress, managing to meet the quota of food she had been used to was something else entirely. Wistfully the stunning female found herself remembering past days, happier days, when life had been so much easier.
Dargel nudged her gently with his nose, eyes glittering teasingly. "Well? Get up sleepy one, I have food for you." A satisfied smirk spread across Jezriel's muzzle, and her eyes glittered with the knowledge that she had this male, among others, completely wrapped around her tail. It was a good thing that Jethro didn't have any inkling of this though, her "betrothed" would no doubt be intensely displeased. "When should we run away together Jezriel? Obviously we can't love each other and remain here, Jethro would have our tails! And likely kick us out anyways." This was the problem with Dargel, he wanted her TOO much. And she had no plans to commit to him in any way, she just liked all the attention. Her cream tail, tipped with white, snaked around Dargel to stroke his chin, "Now, now. There's absolutely no rush, they don't need to know a thing." She didn't say anything more, after all, Jezriel's word was law. That, if nothing else, was utterly respected by all the males. Dargel frowned though, his brow furrowing slightly, "Really though Jezriel, we can't....we can't call each other mates and be free about our relationship if we stay here....don't you want the freedom to admit the truth?" It shouldn't have stung her to hear that but it did. Fixing him in a dark glare she slowly answered. "Of course I do, but the cold season draws close and it would be wise to wait till fairer weather before heading out on our own." She figured the debate was done and turned away, but she missed the hard look in Dargel's eyes. Perhaps if she hadn't turned when she did Jezriel would have realized her error.....and sought to correct it. For playing with such deep emotions never ends well, love and war, two things that always seem to act without reason and thought, fueled instead by the deepest desires of those caught in its thrall. But Jezriel, in her vanity and pride, failed to note this.
Jethro appeared in front of her not long after, pain and fury equally glowing in his eyes. Dargel behind him looked at her with anguish and something else in his eyes. And Jezriel knew, she had been found out, and the consequences would be dire. "Jez....I can't believe you would do this. To me, to Dargel....have you no pride? No shame? I'm....I'm disgusted by you. That you would betray me, betray the group like this.....you're no queen Jezriel, not even a princess. Just a deceitful temptress who needs attention...and shuns love." To hear Jethro speak like this....it wounded her deeply, giving rise to feelings she hadn't realized she possessed. That Jezriel truly cared for Jethro....well, it seemed like too much to bear, but before she could give voice to any of these thoughts and feelings Jethro's eyes hardened. "You love no one but yourself. Fine, you can go love yourself to your hearts content....ALONE." The finality of his words spread through her and she gasped in horror. "No Jethro! Please no! I'll DIE on my own out there!" The look he shot her was full of pity, a little sorrow, and a broken heart. His voice was firm though, with no hesitation....only a deep sadness. "My paws are tied Jezriel. The law is the law. We have only one law and you broke it. There can be no exceptions....no matter who it is." Nodding to Dargel he started to walk away, leaving her alone, for good. And though Dargel tossed her one last glance he too walked away.
Jezriel shook herself out of the memory, hindsight had eventually shown her what a fool she had been...though it didn't soothe her in any way, rather it made her feel unclean. To have tampered with two such magnificent males....both of whom had loved her, and then roughly toss them away. How she could have been so heartless was beyond comprehension. And the worst part was...she realized that she truly did love Jethro, yet now there was nothing that could be done about it. She was gone, banished from the group and resigned to living out her days alone in the Mountains. There would be no kittens for her, no laughter and love from a mate. And it was all her own doing. Still, sometimes when she hunted and looked up at the moon hope ran through her....maybe one day she would find Jethro again, and perhaps even win over his love.
To be continued?
Anything else?:
I came up with a poem I thought was fitting for Jezriel. I also just want to say that I rarely fall so in love with a design as I have with her. That and her story, so tragic yet of her own making. I really want to continue it, but of course, there are many other good forms for her I'm sure, still I look forward to the judging and seeing who wins this stunning Liocko.
{Like shadows dancing in the night}
{I stole your love without a fight}
{And when you came to ask for mine}
{I danced away, but crossed a line}
{Then rising fury captured me}
{Exposed as wicked, all to see}
{The truth attacked me, love I found}
{But when he saw me, only frowned}
{And then I learned the wretched truth}
{An eye for eye and tooth for tooth}
{And I was sent forever away}
{Never again to see the day}
{When my love would see, and smile at me}
