Piiclo

Vitaloney, flicked her tail warily. She did not like being away from her twin brother at all, but he seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Well, she grumbled. I may as well make the best of my time alone..
Slowly she made her way out of her quaint hide away, a large cave that laid hidden behind the waterfall. she had not been out of it for a wile, not since It had started, her brother had told her it was not safe, That humans were not to be trusted. and she heeded his warnings, her and the rest.

As she made the final turn around the edge of the waterfall, she found an unexpected blockage, in her path. she leaned forward and took a quick sniff, the lump smelled of water, and wet fur. she crinkled her nose in mild disgust. She reached out one dark furred paw and gently touched the lump, um.. excuse me. her voice was light and soft, barely audible over the roar of the pounding water next to her, tapping the lump a bit harder this time she again spoke up, "Excuse me, your blocking my path.. could you please move?" the lump stayed their impassive and um moving, she shivered, the spray that came off of the water fall was cold and chilled her even through her long fur.

She sat there for a few more moments, the lump seemed to have decided to stay were it was, still unmoving, she sighed, there was only one other option, the waterfall. slowly she stood, mentally she judged the amount of power she would need to clear the falls safely, after only a moments pause she jumped.

The water pounded exquisitely at her back, giving her the pure euphoria one would get wile having an excellent massage. she alighted on the rocks beside the Ahzen, and let out a loud purr completely beside herself with joy. She could never get over the raw power her element had, and used. Slowly she looked around, gazing at the humans that had noticed her. she puffed out her chest full of pride and gracefully moved down the rocks, her element flowed down behind her, a cascade of pure gold.

She moved fluidly, each step like that of a dancer. But it was not to strike the onlooking humans speechless, That was just a side effect of her movement, one she enjoyed fully. her real intention was to find what was so rudely blocking her path, and maybe even give them a piece of her mind.

As she rounded the corner she came to an unexpected site, a new young Ahz laid out patiently waiting for the groups that crowded around her to speak. Vitaloney sighed, Humans, so odd aren't they? she said under her breath. she reluctantly approached the growing group, Her brother had told her since their birth from the Vortex humans were evil, cruel, and only strove to use an Ahzenai, or keep us locked up like pets. she shivered at the though, I have to keep my eyes, and ears open, she commented again to herself as she saw a few humans looking her way, an odd look in their eyes.

slowly she padded into the throng. At first she had to doge the humans thundering feet, but after a few bowled her over, and others stomped on her paws she was done with this mess. Lightly she jumped up onto the shoulders of the humans, after a few disgruntled Heys she was close enough to the new Ahz to see her, She shivered the ahz was pretty, but her rudeness could not go unaddressed. She took one last jump and landed down next to the New ahz.

She flicked her tail and curled it around her lithe body, and let out a little snort as a human ran forward to the pair of them. quickly she flung out a fore paw tripping him, he handed in a heap at her feet, she placed one large paw on his back and leaned down, whispering menacingly in his ear." That is quite rude, you know. This is my turn, now get out of here before i act rashly" She emphasized her message with a low growl, and let the human scamper away. slowly she turned her attention to the other Ahz, she was still fuming slightly about the human, and she still wanted to give this Ahz a piece of her mind, but something held her back, she shrugged it off and addressed the Ahz.

"Now there is the issue of you", she nonchalantly brought her paw up and licked the dust from her claws, after thoroughly inspecting each one she let her paw back down and continued. "You are blocking the entrance to the Sloboda Headquarters with your body, and I would appreciate it if you moved." she let her white gaze fall on the second ahz. and she let out a sweetly menacing laugh, you don't seem to know who we are do you? The Sloboda are the faction of Ahz that broke off from traditional values, we believe that no Ahz should have to choose a companion at birth, and that humans have no right to come at us, attempting to woo at this very impressionable time in our lives. She barred her teeth ina half smile, I am Vitaloney, one of the twin leaders of the Sloboda, She flicked her tail and puffed out her chest a bit swelling with pride, Though i find your rudeness and insolence disturbing, i like you, you seem to want to do what ever it is you feel like no matter who tells you to do other wise, I will give you a one time offer to join our ranks, and to help save Ahzen from the humans looking to over run us. she flicked her tail again, I have a gift for you, slowly she pulled a Sharp dagger from a hiding place near the rocks, and with a flick of her head it barried itself in the rocks at the feet of The 2nd ahz, If you want to join us, you will have need of this.

Darkness.

That was all she could see. She pushed her hand to her grimy face and saw nothing but.... nothing. Tears streamed down her thin cheeks as she flopped onto the ground, leaning against the hard cave wall. She had been alone in the cave for over a week now, trying to find a way out. Her water was running low and she had long ago run out of food. Her face was covered in sweat and grime, her once nice cloths now not as nice. Nothing could be seen or heard in the dark cave but the soft, sorrowful sobs of the innocent girl.

I am Jaime, she thought, going through what she herself was. She needed to remember. To hold on to what one part of her was still sane. She stood back up, a spike of determination electrocuting her body. My favorite color is green. My second favorite color is blue. I like the colors blue and yellow together. I like colors. I like to use colors when I sketch. I like to sketch lots of things. I like to sketch in Mr. McKenny's class in school. I was dumped at some foster home and sent to that stupid school. I've lived in foster homes since I was eight. My parents died when I was eight. On and on she went, her thoughts growing stronger and stronger with every footstep as she remembered every detail about her life. She needed not give up. She needed to push through.

Her rough, calloused hand followed the wet cave wall as she, still blinded by the lack of light, fumbled along, nothing to do but hear and feel her way through the cave.

SMACK!

Her face rammed into the wall in front of her. A soft cry of pain came from her dry, cracked lips, but she didn't stop. She felt the wall in front of her. The wall moved slightly. Wow.... I must've hit it hard. She gave it a shove, putting all her strength into it, wondering what would happen.

Light.

Light happened. Pure white light shone in from everywhere. Her large dilated pupils shrunk down to pinpricks so quickly it hurt. She collapsed on the ground, her small behind hitting the solid rock hard. "Owe..." she moaned as she shielded her eyes from this new light. It took a few minutes, but soon her eyes were adjusted to her new surroundings.

By now I could tell what this light was. It was a swirling vortex of some sort. The young girl was amazed by what she saw. Her big eyes widened in wonder as she searched the whole area around her. It was amazing! Everything that was happening! All these amazing creatures running around, doing what they do. She fumbled along to the corner of the cave an collapsed, pulling out her almost empty water canteen. She took the last few sips of it and let herself sink down into the rock, her stunning green eyes watching everything that was going on.

It didn't take her long to figure out what exactly was happening and where. She wasn't stupid, actually quit intelligent, and just by observing she was able to figure out who the leader was, how the place ran, that creatures were 'born' from the vortex, humans tried to woo them into being their companions. She sat there for days, just watching. She cleaned herself off a bit, though she had a bump on her head from the impact with the wall and cuts and bruises all over her body. She gained energy, ate some, drank some, all while sitting in the corner of the cave, observing.

After a weeks time she was done simply observing. She wanted to get in on the action, to interact with these magnificent creatures known as the Ahzenai. She stood, her messy blond hair moving with her body. Her intelligent eyes searched the area around her, excited to plunge into action.

Just the day before the vortex had started to swirl faster and become lighter with hues of gray and tan and gold swirling around in it. An Ahzenai that went by 'Piiclo' had stepped out. She was fascinated by her beautiful markings and shy ways. She saw how the other owners tried to woo her... maybe she should try too.

She slowly made her way over to the bridge, not wanting to hurry in and rush the Ahzenai like most owners tended to do. She was in awe of this Ahzenai as she drew near. Her markings were so beautiful, every marking placed so perfectly. She sat off to the side, sitting, watching, waiting for all the other humans to leave. As soon as she was sure she would be the last one to talk to her, she stood up and walked over. She sat about ten yards away from her, legs crossed. Her bright, intense green eyes met her fierce, stunning pink eyes, searching her soul for every emotion. "Hello, Piiclo," she said, pronouncing it perfectly. "I'm Jaime," she continued in a strong but sweet tone.

She said nothing more, but instead just sat there, watching her every move. She had watched her the day before as well, and saw how she scoped out every owner. In that instant she understood her, how she worked, what she was like. She moved so she could pull her old shaggy bag into her lap. Out of the bag she got a pencil and a sketchpad. She skooted over so she could lean against the bridge wall and watch the Ahzenai. Her big green eyes never left him, observing everything. She got to work at sketching away on her pad, glancing up and down from Piiclo and the pad.

Finally, she was done. She looked up at him, her face holding the look of intense curiosity and longing for a companion. "Look," she said simply, holding out the sketchpad for the Ahzenai to see. She knew she was probably expecting a picture of them happily together, playing around or something. But instead she would see a head portrait of herself, a very intense one at that. She was looking up in the picture, an errie glow around her from a light that shone behind her.

"Keep it," she said, tossing the pad to land in front of her. The pages flew about, revealing other sketches of other thinngs such as flowers, land forms, animals.... and her parents.

The pretty girl leaned against the rock, looking out over the bridge. "My parents died when I was 8," she said. "Of course you wouldn't know what that is like... you were born from the vortex." she continued, her voice intense but oddly curious. "I was sent around to different people, but finally I just ran away. That's how I ended up here. I don't have a home so I plan on staying here for a while. I noticed how much you seem to admire Valcyon. Thats good. He's a very admirable Ahzenai." She kept talking, telling her about herself and her past, what she likes to do, how she likes to do it. She wanted the Ahzenai to be able to study her like she seemed to do when she scoped out all her suiters. She didn't want to rush in a pet her of shove mushy comments down her throat. She kept her big green eyes fixed on the distance, until finally she stopped talking. She turned her head to him, an intense look on her face.

"I'm not going to tell you how much fun we would have together, or what I would do with you, because I think you can determine what it would be like with me by yourself." She turned her head again to stare out in the distance, her pretty profile framed by the light from the vortex. "Oh, and one more thing," she added. She reached into her bag and pulled out two sharp daggers. They were a pair, a beautiful one at that. They had intricate, elegant tribal markings engraved into the handles, and where the engraved areas were it glowed with a bright white light. "These are for you."

She studied the Ahzenai that sat only a few yards away. Her eyes took in everything, every flick of the ear, every heavy breath. She knew this Ahzenai liked to watch, just like her. She didn't seem shy. She seemed like she would be a very interesting a worthy companion.

Finally she stood. "I must leave now.... my stomach demands me to. But I will be around... watching." her intense green eyes searched her's once more before she turned and left, heading off to her corner for the night.

Shortly after Anoronast left with Aesse, the vortex once again started its dance of light and color. The light started out a dull green and gray, but quickly flashes of magenta worked their way into the light.

"Piiclo!" Announced Valcyon.

Piiclo hopped from the vortex and shook her pelt out. She slinked back behind some of the larger boulders, being careful to remain hidden. Her eyes shifted to lock onto each suitor she passed, she knew they would come to woo her, but she wanted to scope them out first.

After a few minutes of stalking, she was satisfied with those in Ahzen and decided to allow them a chance to try and woo her. She strolled out from behind the boulders and situated herself near the waterfall, her ears pricked forward as she watched the suitors approach.

Sola bounded his way into the cave, stopping near the bridge and looked back at his companion. Grinned at the sight of his partner jogging after him. It was only out of play, of course. Once Sipiyu reached him, they both made their way over the stone bridge. Just in time to see a new Ahzenai appear. "Piiclo!" Valcyon announced. They both watched as the female bounded behind some boulders. Then make her way to the waterfall. It seemed that she wanted to stalk the suitors. Check them all out.

I smiled down at Sola lightly. "Come on buddy. Lets see if we can make a new friend." I said, making our way off the bridge and toward where Piiclo sat. Waited for a couple of other wooer's to get done before I had my chance. "Hello Piiclo! My name is Sipiyu and this is Sola." I smiled down at her, not at all nervous now. Not after I got Sola. Moved to sit next to her, setting my bag down in my lap. "I hope you don't mind me taking a seat. Sola here had me jogging the whole way here." I laughed lightly. "Would you like to come with us? We were hoping that we could be friends with you."

I leaned back on my hands a moment, a smile on my face. "All the things that we would do! Play at the lake, or in a field. Read and relax next to a warm fire. We could even swim on any hot days! Not to mention all the adventures that we could have." My eyes brightened as I spoke, getting excited about all the things that I listed. "Oh! Can't forget laying outside at night and looking at all the stars. It's so beautiful, right Sola?" Glanced at my bag, then tugged out a warm kitten. "Almost forgot this! It's so warm and soft." Rubbed it against my cheek, then sat the warm kitten on top of Piiclo's head gently.

I stood up then and dusted myself off lightly. "I hope that we can be friends and that you consider us as your friends to. We really could have lots of fun together." Patted at Sola's head softly, then moved to admire the waterfall.

Sola nodded and listened the whole time that his partner spoke. When Sipiyu left to 'oooo' and 'ahhhh' over the waterfall, he sat next to Piiclo. "He really is a strange one, but he really is nice. You would love being around him. He likes making things to, you know. Like necklaces and rings for fingers and horns." Glanced toward his friend, then back to the female. "Well, I better get to him before he falls in." He stood up to all fours, offered a smile and then moved to tug his partner away from the water's edge.

Vimocidas trotted around Ahzen, searching for a sign of a tan pelt. "Where is she?" he muttered, sighing. "Why must she always go walk around by herself?" He shrugged and instead posted himself close to the vortex, prepared for any Ahzenai to appear. He watched Anoronast go with Aesse. He hoped Tessa wouldn't mind if he chose to try and woo the next Ahzenai. The vortex began to glow green and gray, but soon, flashes of magenta appeared.
"Piiclo," Valcyon announced as an Ahzenai hopped out of the vortex. She began to slink behind some rocks, and Vimocidas figured she needed some time, so he sat down and waited. As Piiclo began to become more comfortable, she situated herself near the waterfall and Vimocidas trotted towards her.
"Hello, Piiclo," he said, nodding. "I'm Vimocidas, and it's very nice to meet you." He sat down in front of the other Ahzenai. "I travel with a human and another Ahzenai," he told her, "and they are both very nice, if not a little strange." He smiled, thinking of his companions. "My human companion is named Tessa, and she's quite nice, I can assure you. I'm sure she'd love having you around, too." he told Piiclo. "And the Ahzenai is named Tasu. She can be a little sarcastic and bossy at times, but really, I wouldn't dream of having someone else with me instead of her." He smiled at the other Ahzenai. "We have lots of fun together, and I do hope you will consider joining us. It is completely up to you where you choose to go, but I wish you luck wherever." He dipped his head and trotted off to find Tessa and Tasu and tell them about his woo.

[Dia.]

I watched and let out a quiet sigh as yet another Ahzenai left Ahzen with their new companion. The idea was starting to dawn on me that there would never be that "one" who I just needed to woo. Right before I shifted my weight to turn and leave, the vortex started to swirl again. I was captivated by the spinning lights and I was struck with awe at the flashes of magenta.

"Piiclo!" Valcyon announced, his voice catching my attention.

I watched with interest as the Ahzenai hopped from the vortex and almost immediately ran to take cover in the shadows. Maybe it was because I was the same way - an observer until I get to know the people around me - but I knew that she wanted to remain hidden in the shadows to get an idea of her possible suitors. I respected her unspoken wishes and my feet refused to move until she reappeared from the shadows.

It took a few minutes and my eagerness was overwhelming me, but finally Piiclo emerged from her hiding place. My gaze followed her as she strolled to situate herself next to the waterfall. Quickly, my brain analyzed how artfully placed she was and I appreciated the scene for a moment. Then I took a deep breath and approached her slowly. As I got closer I could see the bright pink swirls on her paws, ears, and tail and smiled. She had a lovely, impressive appearance.

"Piiclo..." I said kind of nervously as I stood close enough. My eyes watched her own carefully. "I see that you prefer to know a crowd before making your entrance." I spoke slowly, but all the while my confidence grew. Even just standing there, I felt I was getting to know the Ahzenai. Carefully, I lowered myself to the ground and rested on my knees. "I'm Dia, by the way. I've been in Ahzen for quite a while now. However, I'm starting to miss being home. Before I left, I thought I'd ask if you were interesting in joining me." I unfolded my legs from under me and sat cross legged. "I'm not one to feel right at home upon first walking into a crowd. I watch and listen to the people around me before feeling at ease."

For a moment, I just sat there and let quiet wash over me. Then, I rose to my feet, dusting off my jeans. "While I can’t promise you riches beyond your wildest dreams or daring adventures one only reads about, I can promise you a peaceful life with kind people. I would not make you feel uncomfortable in a crowd, as I know how that feels. We could stay quiet on the sidelines for a while until we can get a good feel." I smiled and looked towards Piiclo once more before turning around, "Think about what I said. Although I do feel that we could have great times together outside of Ahzen."

I walked closer waterfall, glancing back at the female Ahzenai every few steps. Then I carefully settled down on a small rock to feel the spray of the water and wait for Piiclo to make her decision.

Tarra

Tarra is normally quite serious and generally you won't hear anything from her. But at times she'll make a comment on something, normally to point out your stupidity. She's quite wise, and likes to give people advice and tips on something. She loves to explore (with moi. xD) and takes it seriously (probably ever since the time she was 'almost eaten by a spider'). Yeah, Tarra can be a little drama queen sometimes. When we're not exploring, she'll just chill by a lake or river, or some watery thing. She likes water. Often she calls me stupid. It's not fun. But I love her anyways. 8D

I didnt bother looking for an entrance to ahzen, one would reveal itself to us eventually, when the ground gave way beneath me I wasnt at all shocked or scared. This was a way into ahzen I was pretty sure of that fact. My body slammed into a wall "oomph" I gasped as the wind was knocked right out of my lungs; it didnt help that Duriel salmmed right into me. I rubbed my back trying to ignore the other places which would surely be going black and blue from the collision, "Duriel?" I asked quietly. I smiled when a furry tail wrapped gently round my wrist. That was his way of saying "im here" only without words

We walked along me with my fingertips tracing along the wall so neither of us collided with it again, I soon began to hear the faint roar of the waterfall and knew we were getting close, to being out of this infernal tunnel. Very slowly we began to see light filter through the darkness until a small circle appeared that grew bigger as we approched it

I yawned and watched Duriel dip a slender raven black paw into the river, his onyx coat glimmering with the waters rippling reflection. The music I had dowloaded recently thrumming in my human ears the white earbuds fit snugly in my human ears, they were much more comfy than the circular headphones I had used for such a long time. My eyes flicked toward the vortex and I watched as it swirled starting out a dull green and gray, but quickly flashes of magenta working their way into the light.

I yawned and went to concentrating on the sound of Flutterwonder that was soothing me into a soft doze; I vaugely heard Valcyon shout out something that sounded like Piiclo. "Must be the name of the new ahzenai" I mused quietly, I opend my eyes and watched Piiclo slink behind some of the larger boulders in order to observe the latest wooers. After a few minutes of silent observing she strolled out from behind the boulders to over near the waterfall, I slipped my headhones out and heard one of the wooers beg for Piiclo to leave with both her and the dog.

Duriel sniggered quietly as he placed his head on my shoulder, I merely frowned "begging, how undinified" I spoke with distaste, if you dont like it why not go show Piiclo that there are others in the world who have manners and grace a small voice chimed in my head. With a grin I gently pushed Duriel off and stood up with an air of determination, I easily transformed and Duriel eyed me with appreciation. I knew he was more comfortable with me in this form then the human disguise I wore so frequently, I too preferred this form but the human one had to be used most of the time.

Duriel stood next to me and with merely a look we steadily made our way over to Piiclo, I snorted as we came upon an another ahzenai rambling about not having a companion at all. "Not having a companion is well and good but just what would you do when the food began to run out? Starve perhaps?" I asked Piiclo keeping my face and tone of voice on the neutral side of things. Having a companion human or not is good thing, just look at Duriel here see how healthy he is? I only buy the food and occasionally brush those hard to reach places, otherwise he keeps himself in good condition, I don't control him, Duriel is a good friend to me as are Hivani, Inasdo and Venom Shadow. My other three ahzenai." I finished with a soft smile

"She loves us all the same no matter how we look or what we do" Duriel said softly his gaze fixed on the water, watching the ripples spread out from little drips of water. "Without love the world would be a cruel, cruel place" he said somberly, "my friends keep me happy and make me feel safe i'm sure anyone without those feelings must have a very suckish life. Think about how you would feel with no love and the constant need to hide yourself away" I said and walked away to sit by Duriel dangling my paws in the water .

I strolled around Ahzen and stared in complete awe. Soon my attention was diverted to the Vortex as it lit up, and suddenly and Ahzenai jumped out. I heard the name "Piiclo!" was called out and just assumed it was her name. Watching as she backed away behind some boulders to stay hidden and looked around at everyone even me. I felt self-consious when she stepped out and waited for one of us to woo her. Stepping forward without a second thought I smiled at her, "Hello Piiclo," I started "my name is Aeon as your probably wondering. I notice that you seem pretty curious about us." with that I took a nervous breath since I had never done this before but continued on anyway. "You know I could teach you many things, educate you about us. It could be very fun for the both of us seeing you might lke to learn and I could teach you." I said to her and suffled my feet a little shifting my weight from side to side. "I'm sure I don't seem very exciting to you, I understand because I know I'm generally a shy, quiet person. But I believe that in each others company we can bring out the best in one another." Reminding myself to breath, I bit my bottom lip hoping that I had wooed her and she would choose me.
