Swirling to life once more, the great vortex in the center of Ahzen rose up high in a flash of browns, dark greens and dull magentas. Rutoriel sprang from the vortex with a light step and shook out her mane, relishing in the feel of the cool air of the cave.

"Rutoriel!" she heard Valcyon announce in the distance. She smiled to herself at his dedication to his task, one she herself would grow bored of rather quickly.

She eyed the people around her, taking in their various appearances. She knew why they were here and looked forward to meeting them but swore to herself that she would not leave with just anybody. Spotting a proper look-out Rutoriel strolled over and climbed upon the tall plateau with ease. From this height she would be able to see who was approaching. For a human- or anything that walked on two legs for that matter- the climb would be a challenging one.

The climb in itself would be phase one of her trials, the second phase would come with what they offered her. She would be very picky with what they said, and would only travel with the one she deemed worthy. Sitting back on her haunches she patiently waited for her first suitor to appear.

A newcomer, I stood at the cave entrance, when suddenly the vortex whirled to life. The proud creature that leaped from the vortex awarded a gasp from my surprised mouth. I'd heard rumors, but seeing it in person was unlike anything I could have imagined.

"Rutoriel!" Valcyon announced, as the Ahzenai shook out her mane and made her way over to a tall plateau, scrambling to the top with ease. I know then that I would be climbing that same plateau to try and impress the gorgeous Rutoriel. I slipped quickly through the crowd of other humans, not paying them much attention. I reached the base of the plateau and gazed up, turning ledges into footholds and hand grips, planning my ascent. After hopping up onto a rock, I reached high above my head for a handhold, swinging my leg up to another ledge. Continuing in this matter, I made my way somewhat hastily to the top.Within moments, I was there. The sun was bright and warm atop her perch, so I took a moment to blink and allow my vision to adjust before starting forward. Then, I sat out on the rock, absorbing the warm sun along with her, after having traveled through the wet jungle to reach the cave at this opportune moment.

Cautiously, I spoke to her."Hello, Rutoriel"I murmured. "My name is Sparrow. I have long heard of this amazing land, but this is my first time ever traveling here. Rumors abound about this place and of the graceful Ahzenai that live here. So too have I seen people traveling in lands I have ventured to, accompanied by companions of your species. I have eventually found my way here, seeking to find a companion to accompany me in my travels, as I explore the many lands known to us." I paused, to see if she gave any reaction, before continuing. I flipped my long black hair back from my face, annoyed that it had gotten damp even though the hood of my deep purple cape had been protecting it while traveling.

I drew a deep breath, enjoying the clear air after so long of breathing in the scent of mold and whatever else had been in that jungle. The sun especially felt wonderful, and I lifted my face to take in more of its warmth. I spoke again, still looking at the sun. "I travel quite a bit, you see. Truly, I have no master but my own whims, and go where I please when I want to. It gets lonely sometimes. I was just in Mexico looking for some lost Aztec treasure a few months back...it was a rewarding trip," I grinned, fingering the gold hoops hanging from my ears, just a small peice of what I'd found. "but it got very, very lonely with not a soul but the jaguars to talk to. And if you see one of them, well, your likely only invited to dinner to BE dinner" I chuckled slightly, then looked at her, meeting her bright, intelligent eyes.

"It may be a bit...pompous...of me to ask this of you, but I would love it if you might consider accompanying me in my travels. I need someone there to watch my back, and keep me from becoming lonely on my solitary treks. I think we may be good companions, you and I. I know you wouldn't choose just anyone, nor would I expect you to, but I would be honored if you chose to accompany me." I thought for a moment, then remembered. “Oh! I nearly forgot. I bought this at the entrance to the cave. They told me it would help in finding a companion, so I got this for you.” I pulled from my bag a fluffy, warm little kitten and set it, blinking in the sudden sunshine, before her. It yawned, turned in a circle, and curled up between Rutoriel’s paws for a nap. At this point, not knowing what else to say or do, nor if there was something else I should have said, I took a step back, awaiting her decision.

My woo for Rutoriel

I slowly entered the world of Ahzen. It was my second time here after a failed attempt to woo Xuen. As I slowly approached the vortex, it started swirling. It changed colors to a type of magenta, forest green , and darkish brown. A new Ahzenai emerged from the vortex.
I could hear Valcyon yell 'Rutoriel!' from a distance.
Rutoriel climbed up the rocks all the way to the top. A crowd of people quickly scrambled up the rocks to get to Rutoriel to try to woo her. I waited hours and hours to wait for the crowd to leave. Finally after 1 day of waiting, the huge crowd left. I slowly climbed up the rocks where Rutoriel was.
“Hello Rutoriel.” I said, “I’m Antinc000."
I slowly showed Rutoriel my warm kitten which was sleeping in my hands. The little kitten yawned and made itself comfortable in my arms.
"You have very beautiful patterns on your body." I said
“We can travel the world if you come with me. We can star gaze at midnight in Africa, we could go for hikes through peaceful hiking routes, we could also come back to Ahzen and visit once in a while.”
“I would love if you could join me.” I said, “We could do everything! We could travel the world, or do whatever you’d like! In the summer we could go swimming and in the winter we could go sledding down tall mountains! But once again, you decide. Good luck with your decision. Remember what I said Rutoriel. Good luck!”
I started climbing down the rocks and slowly started to walk away and leave Ahzen, feeling confident with what I said to Rutoriel.
