Tough as Nails Adoption (Closed for renovations!)

This is the only problem I really have with TaN. I don't like that a char can be rejected just for a few people's personal preferences. Seems a bit elitist to me :/

I don't remember if this was the same person or not, but someone tried to use this picture as a character with the name Tillibani. Seems based off of it to me.

Even if it is though, I'm not sure if that would count as design theft.

We try to be as objective as possible. We look for creativity and uniqueness in a design and personally, I don't think a grey wolf with an earring is that unique. How is rejecting a design any more elitist than rejecting an order at an art shop?

TaN isn't the only adoption agency on CS, there are several more out there if you don't like how the ship is run.

It seems like the only thing they have in common is species and feathers. Maybe very loosely inspired, but it is a very generic concept to claim theft.

Art is different. When you have to be looking at the thing for hours it screws with your eyes. You don't have to stare at these donations. Someone may have really liked it and planned to put up a form :/

I know there are many more, but it just doesn't seem very fair to reject for personal preference

Then the artist can put it up another adoption agency. There's The Agency and Break of Dawn Adoption, Tough as Nails is not the end of the line by far, there are plenty of other adoption agencies that will take adoptables that we feel would not fit at Tough as Nails.

And there is no rule stating that rejected designs have to rot. If a person likes a design that doesn't make it to the adoption round, they are more than welcome to contact the original artist for an off the books adoption.

I was totally going to go out for that charrie. So what, I like simple designs? I had a plan and everything, and I even started the story. I think it's a bit unfair. But apparently my oppinion doesn't matter so I think I'll just go now...

Yep, the design was too plain. While the art of her is very pretty, design-wise Tillibani is just a solid grey wolf with a few earrings, which didn't quite make the cut. If people want her, they could probably apply to Malimo directly with their applications, unless Malimo wants to try her at a different agency instead. Look at it this way - there might be less competition for her that way, people who've hit their limit at TaN can apply for her, and it won't count towards the winner's total adoptions from TaN. ;3

Name: Laeou (Pronounced Lay-oh)
Species: Ai'aka Nirkei
Personality: Laeou is a shy and quiet Nirkei, and tends to keep things to himself. He is loyal to whoever he follows. He can be aggresive if he's had enough of you, though. To tell the truth, sometimes he's a bit flirty.
Likes: Quiet, Peace, clouds, flying, shade, etc.
Dislikes: When he gets too aggresive, hate, evilness and whatnot.
Background (Optional, but it gives you a better shot. 2500 words maximum, 100 words minimum. We value quality over quantity, you can have five pages and still say absolutely nothing.) Laeou squeaked with pain as the cross on his forehead was made. Crystals began to appear on his ears, as he was born days ago. He knew he had survived through all the pain, and could relax now. Feel normal. A young female Nirkei caught his eye as he walked, and his face flushed red. What was this feeling? It was love.
Laeou finally found the courage to speak with her when he was a few months old and could speak. "Wh-What's your name?" he asked, bounding up to her. The female only closed her eyes and turned away. Laeou was crushed.
Months after the female rejected him, Laeou's wings grew larger, enough to fly. He climbed up to the tree, and stood on a large branch. He spread his wings, jumped off, and a new crystal was beginning to form.
His leg scraped against the ground, and he yelped in pain. However, he was strong, and tried again.
Many tries and given him more wounds, but sometimes he was close and landed on his feet. Finally, after many days, he spread his wings, and threw himself into the air.
As he flew, a golden glint caught his eye. He flew down and found two golden bracelets. He put is paws in the bracelets, lifted it up carefully, and let it slide onto his paw. He had found some new accesories, but lost his way home forever. He never returned to his I'rei again, and could never find it again.
Laeou has gotten most of his crystals from trying to fly, however some were from fights. The rest of his history is unknown, he will never tell anyone. He had never seen the female he had fallen in love with again, but will never forget her. This is why he is not very interested in a mate, but he gets flirty sometimes and forgets. He may get a mate, he may not, nobody knows. This is the end of his past story, as far as we know.
