welcome to Chima Beasts!

pronounced ky-ma beasts, these interesting creatures made their
settlement in the land of Talroq centuries ago. appearing to be some
cross between a wildcat and a dragon, they stand roughly around
three feet at shoulder height, on average. over the years, they've
developed an interesting range of colors and gene mutations, making
them a highly sought-after companion! here, you can adopt, breed,
discover, and play with your very own chima beasts. if you'd like to
take a closer look, click any of the links to the left to discover more.

all images and graphics, unless otherwise specified, were created by
and belong to selyne.

not unlike most other adoption centers, we have rules here
that are reinforced by our staff. strikes and bans are given out
as seen fit if rules are repeatedly broken. strikes will go away
after time, while bans will (most likely) not. you are expected
to read these rules before using any thread associated with
Chima Beasts.

if you have a question about the rules, please ask on the chat
thread, or contact selyne privately.

[ strikes / bans ]
there are currently no users with strikes or bans on their
accounts at this time.
[ general rules ]
> art theft is not tolerated. you will be immediately banned.
> this is a closed species, do not make your own.
> if you do not own an adopt, do not use it's image.
> do not start or join in fights on any of the threads. if you see an
issue concerning this or another user, contact selyne.
> chatter/questions/suggestions/etc. should be posted on the chat
thread. do not spam the main threads.
> do not pester, rush, or complain about the staff and/or their
production speed. if you have a serious concern, contact selyne.
> adopts and items can only be traded/sold for other adopts/items/
currency associated with chima beasts.
> do not edit any of the official art or designs.
> if you are banned, i reserve the right to re-home your free adopts.

[ staff rules ]
> act respectfully with the rest of the community.
> staff members are allowed to enter raffles, explore, and apply
for pairings/customs as much as any other users, and will not
receive any boosted odds.
> artists may try to win designs they've made.

[ species guide]

Image Image Image Image Image

these creatures you see are called chima beasts. although they have evolved into many different shapes, colors, and mutations, they are all considered the same species. because they have lived in this land for hundred of years, many different variations have occurred in the wild. however, they do develop similar patterns to those surrounding them, and therefor no chima beast "design" is unique just to it (unless it is a genetically modified custom). based on their percentage in the population, each "design" will be given a rarity upon it's discovery. the rarities go: common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare, and legendary. they are assigned at discovery, but if more appear and are adopted out into the community, then the design's rarity will be re-evaluated. the percentage guide only applies to chima beasts that have been adopted by users.
x>30% = common | 10%<x<30% = uncommon | 5%<x<10% = rare | 2%<x<5% = ultra rare | x<2% = legendary

each design is also given it's own "title" to help categorize it in the archives.

there are many ways to adopt a chima beast, but the most common is through the adoption center. once a week, they will receive a new group of wild chimas that wish to be adopted. these can be new discoveries, or old ones! the adoption center hosts all their adoptions as free raffles, so they are 100% random. another way to randomly get a chima beast is through exploring, though you can only do this if you already own a chima. if you have one, you can send it out periodically to search the land, where it has a chance of finding another companion for you! chima beasts found while exploring are exclusive to that feature, and will not be found anywhere else. the final way to adopt a free chima beast is through adopting second generation chimas. if two first generations are bred together, their offspring will be up for adoption. these will be free to enter raffles, and rarer than regular adopts because they are not likely to appear for adoption again.

you also have the option to purchase chima beasts. these are typically rarer, to make it more worth using your in-game currency.at the pound, you can adopt a chima that's been left there; you will have to pay a small adoption fee, depending of the rarity of the beast you pick. the second cheapest way is to purchase the monthly market chimas, which will be rare and will retire after the end of the month. they will be pricey to keep their rarities in check. lastly, you have the option to purchase a custom chima. these will be completely unique, unless you chose to duplicate them later, and will always be legendary rarity. they will be very expensive, but will be designed the way you want them and exclusive to you.

beware of collecting too many chimas at once, though! each user is only allotted thirty free spots to keep their chima beasts. once your party is full, you will be unable to adopt any more beasts until you donate/sell ones you currently own (either to the pound or to other players directly), or purchase additional adoption slots from the marketplace (these cost in-game currency, but permanently upgrade your adoption limit).

chima beast designs will also retire. after a while, it will become impossible for certain designs to be found in the wild, and thus that design will become "retired". this means that it will no longer appear anywhere except for the pound or if duplicated by a user who already owns it. when a design retires, it's rarity will increase faster due to it no longer being in circulation.

looking to adopt a chima? all raffle-type adoptions are
done here. raffles are scheduled once a week, with three-seven
beasts per group. each adopter is allotted one entry into each
raffle, unless otherwise stated. when filling out the adoption
form, please remember to fill everything in before posting,
or your form will not be counted into the raffle list. all winners
are chosen fairly with this website.

(if you see a plain grey beast with no design, it is a place holder and not up for adoption.)

chima beasts that were never adopted or that were given up by
other users can be bought for an adoption fee here. the fee
corresponds with the current rarity of the chima.

Talroq is rich with treasures and creatures, and chima
beasts are happy to share it with their human companions!
once a week, you will be able to send up to three of your
chimas out to explore
the land for prizes. while exploring,
you may find usable items, apparel items, coins, crystals,
inventory upgrades, or even exclusive chima beasts that
can't be found anywhere else!
to explore, you must own at least one chima beast that you
can send out (unless during an event, where you may explore
without a chima). this means that you cannot send breeding
chimas or 'work-in-progress' customs. if your chima beast
does not fall into either of those categories, then you may
use it for exploring. please remember that you are allowed
to send up to three chimas out per opening.

exploring is currently open.
