Welcome to the area where Shinyokus live. The name "Shinyoku" means "Divine Wings" in Japanese. These creatures are very special and unique. I created them one night when I was bored and thinking of creating a new character. I fell in love.
This is a Shinyoku:
Shinyokus are slender animals. Their necks are heavily muscled. Their limbs are long and robust, with comparatively small paws. The front legs are both replaced by feathery wings, and the back paws both have two toes. The wings are seemingly part of the body. Females tend to have narrower muzzles and foreheads, thinner necks, slightly shorter legs and less massive shoulders than males. Shinyokus are very strong for their size, possessing sufficient strength to turn over a frozen horse or moose carcass.
They are also capable of flying at speeds of 34–38 miles per hour, and can continue flying for more than 5 hours, though not necessarily at that speed. In cold climates, can reduce the flow of blood near their skin to conserve body heat.
Shinyokus heads are large and heavy, with wide foreheads, strong jaws and short, blunt muzzles. The ears are large and triangular and have a small tuft on the end of each. Shinyokus usually carry their heads high. They have shaggy hair that hangs over their eyes. Antenna poke out of their foreheads, normally curly on the ends.
