Entry: His Story Once there was a ghost named Gasper. He lived in a large grey, stone castle and roamed its corridors all his life. It was a lonely living, as there were no other living creatures or ghosts to talk to. He did not know where his family was, but he made do with the garden outside of the castle. It included many species of black oaks, grey tulips, and rock friends. One day when he went out to water the plants, he noticed a strange flower. It was just a bud, but it was bright and shone in contrast with the grey, bleak landscape. It was the same color as his cheeks when he blushed (for he had a lot of time to look in the mirror). He was shocked and swore to care for it. He watered it everyday and one day it grew in to a bountiful rose bush. He took the seeds and planted them until he had a field of roses. He loved to lie down in the middle of the field and listen to the plants rustle in the wind, almost as if they were speaking. But... who knows... maybe they are.
The MythSome tales speak of a light pink rose that can heal all wounds, no matter how terrible, and that can make you young forever. A few sought it, but many gave up after years of perilous searching. Two men continued to search though. And that is what this tale is about...
"Their names were Danny and Frank. Their mission was to find the red rose. They were just two shepherd boys destined for something beyond their imag..."
"Oh, shut it." Frank muttered. "You seem to think that we are going to make it out of this alive... and that we will share the rose to the world." He tisked. "Even if we find it, we cannot share it."
"Frank! You believe we'll find it? You really believe!?" Danny excited whispered. "You know there are tales that..."
"... are myths. The riddle we got went as follows," droned Frank. "First, go and climb the tallest mountain. Find a black rock there. Be warned... only the pure of heart can hear its call. Then pass through the mountain unto the Valley of Ghosts. All shall attack you but one. Accept his help or you have no hope. He will take you to the rose but will not give it up. You must convince him to give it up. If you use violence on him, the rose will lose its powers. Begin... NOW!"
"Um... Frank. I think I found the rock. Or a rock anyways." Danny cautiously mentioned. As Frank looked in his direction, Danny suddenly began walking down the side of the mountain.
"What are you doing? Giving up are you? I will go on myself." Frank turned around and began climbing again, determined that Danny would follow. Danny did not. He had made his way to the bottom of the slope. He carefully turned around halfway and picked up a small rock. "Only the pure of heart will hear its call..." And so the hard-hearted one was gone, for he could not hear the stone's call.
Danny now pondered what to do with the rock. He began to walk back and forth when the stone started to glow. The further he walked the more it glowed. Suddenly it flashed and went cold and black again. Danny looked up in shock. Before him was the Valley of Ghosts. He gazed in all directions before moving on. All the silent, but warm, and fireflies could be seen in the distance. He headed towards the fireflies, curious as to what attracted them. In the middle of them was a floating white ghost. When he saw Danny he blushed and shooed away the fireflies.
"Come," gestured the ghost and he glided away. He took Danny to a castle and gave him a room. He gave him a change of clothes and brought some food into the room. "My name is Gasper," he intoned.
Who are you? Danny heard the ghost's voice in his head and froze.
Do not be worried, it continued.
The evil ghosts will not get you. "Does that mean you are not evil?" he asked.
I am certainly not evil, proclaimed Gasper.
I am here to help you. And I think I know why you are here. The rose right? Danny nodded cautiously.
Don't worry boy. The riddle was a myth to discourage those who did not deserve the rose. I mean, they were instructions, but I will not stop you from getting the rose. Actually... I wanted to ask you something. "What did you want to ask me?" Danny questioned.
"Would you lke to stay here?" Gasper asked out loud. "I am really very lonely here. With me ou would be safe here?... So, whatya say?"
"I think I'd like that," said Danny.
The End... For Now
If I get him, I will write a longer story. :3
