Sorry, I've been known to pop into conversations like this. I've been stalking Chubby's little charloos for a while now, but never really had the courage to pop by and identify myself.
Anyways, if you mind a little correction, "Ye"(叶) is, directly translated, "piece of leaf"
"Ye zi" (叶子) is sort of directly translated, leaf.
A bit of random knowledge here, thanks for letting me share

"Yi pian ye zi" is directly translated as One piece of leaf, but it works both ways.
