Well, I think that you should sit and think about what would be best for you. Maybe do a list of Pro's and Con's for both options?

Meh, I way, but Pros' and Con's aren't my best..Not really feeling up to it anyways. XD
I'll be seeing if I can make another dog for the litter... :)

I'll be putting in an application for "Elijah" although I feel the name Scarlet better suits her. I just have to say, bravo for whoever designed her. The detail of her markings is hard to take in with one look, you have to take her in bit by bit. Even if I don't succeed in gaining her as a character, I'll definitely be back if designs this beautiful are commonplace :3 amazing job!

I want to adopt! D: sorry in advance if all the text hurts your eyes. Her design inspires me so much

Username: BlueEyedKite (call me Kite though :3)

Pen #: 23e

Name: Scarlet Fae “Scarlet”

Age: 4 years old (going by wolf aging, she’s an adult)

History:

The jungles of the Amazon are a dangerous and yet wildly beautiful place to live. Here under the thick canopy of the trees, three tribes share possession of the vast jungle lands. To the north is the Junai tribe, a feline clan of spotted coats known for their tree climbing abilities and blade-sharp claws. To the east is the Lutcks tribe, a canine clan with dark colored coats known for their swift movement through the jungle and their powerful bite attacks. To the west is the Markl tribe, also a canine clan with lighter colored coats known for their thin build and crafty nature.

Independent of the three tribes is the ribbon maidens of Moonfire river. A high rising cliff, the white rocks giving it the nickname the Moon Cliffs, protects the maidens on one side while the strong current of the Moonfire River protects the other. Here, the all female residents of the Eclipse Sanctuary (as the territory between the cliffs and the river is known) have the mythical ability to harness the energy of color. When a maiden comes of age, her fourth spring, a secret ceremony reveals the true color that represents the female and she’s given ceremonial ribbons representing her color to be worn at all times. Each color brings with it a certain power: blue is known for wisdom and intelligence, green for harmony and fertility but the most powerful color of all is red. The more intense the color, the more powerful the maiden’s ability is.

For 100 years, the color red in any shade whether light or dark never blessed the maidens of the Eclipse Sanctuary. The litter of an average maiden, Opal, produced but one white pup. At first the pup seemed plain with not a mark on her—strange since each pup born within the ribbon dancers usually had a few markings the color of whatever their true color was. She was named Scarlet, out of pure chance, but it was only when the white female reached puberty that intensely red markings first appeared on her back, her front-left leg, and then across her face. So many intricate markings and with such a deep color red stirred the hopeful hearts of the ribbon maidens. When the day came that Scarlet would be tested to find her true color, the newly marked white wolf drew in all her energy to perform the most beautiful, and elegant ribbon calling dance the maidens had ever seen.

Scarlet balanced on her hind legs without a crease of pain on her face and she moved on her back paws as if the movement were natural. The ribbon calling dance is only as beautiful as the movement of the dancer since the newly adult dancer doesn’t possess the elegance of the ceremonial ribbons that usually aid to the beauty. Scarlet, however, was enchanting to watch. Her black eyes remained closed the entire time—she moved confidently without having to check to see if her paws were in the right stance. She danced through the entire night, not standing on all four paws until the early morning dawn highlighted her feminine figure. All eyes turned to the fire that Scarlet had danced around all night, waiting for the flames to turn the shade of her true color. With a roar of energy, the fire blazed into a molten red that was as deep and intense as any true color could be. Not only was Scarlet’s true color red… but she was one of the few maiden’s to have the truest shade of her color a deep, pure red.

As the red ribbons were adorned to her tail, envy and worry swept the rest of the maidens. The powers of red hadn’t been seen for a century, what could this mean for the three tribes that surrounded Moonfire River? Red came with strength, courage, and passion something that the tribes could use to their advantage if they could persuade Scarlet to give her mystical ash with its powers to only their tribe. For fear that Scarlet could be seduced or worse, betray the maidens, her people placed more of her ceremonial red ribbons around her mouth—sentencing her to silence for as long as they deemed necessary.

One thing was for certain, Scarlet had an independent and fiery spirit as intense as her color. Her reaction to the silencing ribbons was one of anger, it made the female anxious to escape from the maidens and remove them for a time. At the same time, the leader of both the Lutcks and Markl tribe heard of the newly christened red ribbon dancer. Both would try to win Scarlet’s trust for the benefit of their warriors. The leader of the Junai tribe had more of a sinister plot in mind, using kidnap and manipulation to get the ash they wanted.

Scarlet Fae became the ribbon dancer everyone wanted.

Personality: fearless, independent, passionate with whatever she sets her mind to, and a risk-taker

Something you drew: Scarlet is silenced (in this scene, one of the ribbon dancers was ordered by the Queen to tie ribbons round Starlet's mouth so she is forced into silence)

Why do you want this design?: I’m an avid role player, I’ve been role playing for eight years now. There isn’t anything I love more than canine role plays, I can bring out just as much personality and depth from my four legged characters than I can with my humans. At the moment I only have one canine character, Helenic. For a while now I’ve been stalking countless adoption threads for the perfect female canine character to balance out my characters. I had a certain idea in mind for what I was hunting for: I’d love for her to have dark/cool colors with maybe a Gothic feel to her. Scarlet stopped me short when I clicked on this thread by chance (I wasn’t really looking for a “horror” character but I figured I might as well give a passing glance through). She had everything I was looking for, a pleasing color scheme, the right amount of accessories, and an intricate design. I put a lot of effort into my applications and I wanted a character that I could tell had just as much effort put into her design. She is stunning and I would love to have the chance to see how her personality and story unfolds.

On a scale of 1-20 how much do you want this design?: 20!!! T-T(<-- happy tears) I think the design is utterly gorgeous! The “lacy spiderweb” feel to her back marking, the empowering fire tribal design going up her front-left leg, the facial tattoo—I even love the delicate ribbons. She looks like a fiery red tribal goddess <3 I think she is beautifully well done. I come at least 50 times a day to this thread just to stare at her.

Her Color: red, the most stimulating and energized of all the colors of the color spectrum. The color red provokes passion, strength, energy, and courage.

Mystical Abilities: Scarlet is the only red ribbon dancer of the river maidens, the only one for 100 years. The ashes from a fire Scarlet has danced around can give anyone who wears the soot a sense of passion, strength, and courage.

Strong Points of her powers: this sense of power and a drive to accomplish is priceless for the warriors that surround the Moonfire River. With her charmed ashes, the warriors tend to do 75% better in battle, making the ashes a treasured asset.

Weak points of her powers: Placing the enchanted ash on the body repeatedly over a long period of time can lead to power poisoning. Instead of giving the wearer passion and strength—the tainted ash can cause the wearer to feel the dangerous side of the color red: wraith, anger, and a blood-lust.

Role Play sample of Scarlet (reading this is optional):

Shadows danced around the base of the trees of Eclipse Sanctuary as moonlight stretched out over camp. Caves made of the same white rock as the Moon Cliffs served as the dens for the females of the ribbon dancers. There are four main dens scattered to the north, east, south, and west of the wooded clearing: the mother’s den for females expecting pups or nursing after meetings with males from either the Lutcks or Markl tribe, the juvenile females not yet having the adult’s ceremonial ribbons, the prestigious adult ribbon dancers, and then the cave for the Queen of the maidens who makes all political and economical decisions.

The reigning Queen of the ribbon dancers, Azure, lay asleep on a ledge inside her den. She was praised for several years as the most fair and intelligent of all the Queens that the maidens ever had. After the birth of the strangely marked Scarlet, her sanity seemed to be more questioned. Azure had no idea that as she slept, the female she had given the order to be silenced with ribbon round her muzzle, was slipping out from the fringes of camp.

Scarlet’s dark black eyes gleamed like the wet ink on the end of an artist’s brush. Her light dancer paws made barely a sound on the soft jungle floor as she padded out of the west end of camp and followed along the bank of the Moonfire River. Every night the red ribbon dancer slipped out of the Eclipse Sanctuary to loosen the ribbons around her muzzle and allow her buzzing tongue to have a chance to speak.

The water lapped at the rocky shore of the river as Scarlet lowered to sit. The red ribbons fell from around her mouth like silky chains the color of polished rubies. A sigh escaped from her jaws as she swept her dark eyes around the scene—making sure no one witnessed her break of a Queen’s sentence.

On the opposite side of the river, hidden behind a rim of jungle trees, stood the dark black and tan leader of the Lutcks tribe. His bright emerald eyes slid over the female maiden with a look of appreciation and wonder before he noticed the red ribbons laying at her paws and wound around her tail. Fallon, as he was known, had traveled away from his tribe in hopes of gaining information about the newly appointed red dancer and yet here she sat only yards away from him! His heart began to pound as he stepped out from the safety of the trees and walked to the edge of the river, pretending to be wanting nothing but to quench his thirst.

“Who's about?” Scarlet’s voice was feminine and yet she had a confident and commanding tone.

Fallon looked up from lapping at the water, raising his head as a trail of water dripped off his strong jaw.” Sorry, I was out on a hunt and my thirst drew me to the river," he spoke in a deep rumbling voice." I should say, it's not very safe for a delicate maiden as yourself to be away from the Sanctuary.”

Scarlet seemed not in the least intimidated by the Lutcks wolf.” Maybe for other spineless maidens but I assure you, warrior blood must run in my veins because I certainly don’t lack the strength and agility of one.”

An amused grin worked on his muzzle as he slowly waded across the river and stood next to the maiden with a curious gaze of his green eyes.” That I don’t doubt. My name is Fallon... am I too much of a brute to receive the name of such a beautiful lily of a maiden?”

Scarlet scoffed but she couldn’t help but be pleased by this Fallon fellow’s looks.” I’m Scarlet but don’t expect nightly phantoms of my appearance every night beside this river,” she replied matter-a-fact.

Fallon slowly stretched out his neck towards the ground, watching in amusement as Scarlet followed this movement with her black eyes. He gingerly held the ribbons that lay at her paws between his teeth—lifting his head with the ribbons hanging from his jaws. He drew his muzzle close to Scarlet’s parted mouth, as if gesturing that she should take them.

She gave a surprised gasp, the earthy, spicy scent of Fallon filled her nose with his mouth so close to hers. Scarlet recovered quickly, taking the ribbons into her mouth and giving him a curious stare.

Fallon chuckled, swishing his tan tipped black tail.” You shouldn’t leave such precious ribbons on the ground dear Scarlet. I should head back to my people, perhaps I can see you again… under the light of the full moon.” He tucked his jaw into a swan-like bow to her before he turned and charged across the river, disappearing into the jungle of the other side.

The full moon would be revealed in less that three days, obviously he was setting up a second meeting between the two of them. Scarlet gave a rueful smirk and used her paws to rebind the red ribbon around her jaws. As she headed back to camp, the red ribbon maiden decided she would meet this male again—she certainly wouldn’t be telling anyone about this though. For now, the black-eyed female had her own secret.

PS - Anything I added to the application I’ll mark in red ;3 also, I think Scarlet’s background story of the ribbon dancers would make a great role play. Especially if the rival canine tribes have handsome leaders both seeking Scarlet’s affection. Oh my gosh I love her o.e -flails-

-huggles Starry- If you're talking to me thank you T.T ehhhh, I'm a very insecure writer. Once I write it all out I get these anxieties like it's too long so no one will read it or it's so complex that I'm the only one who understands since I wrote it ._.

I really do think this would make a fun role play right :3 it'd be like a powers wolf role play since the girls would get abilities based on their color. Everyone could pick their fav color too ^.^ if you want blue but someone else already has blue... be light blue! or dark blue! There may be some ground rules so there are no godmoding ^-^; Scarlet may break them but for now it's her story so she can be awesome. I really do love her o3o
