Astra jumped silently from tree to tree, looking down on the community of other Samet Lions below. She smiled to herself, for she could do things others couldn't do. She looked down and saw her friend Shiku. Shiku looked up as a shower of leaves sprayed down on her, but Astra's dark pelt blended in with the sky. She smiled again and jumped to the next tree when Shiku looked away. She kept jumping until she came to her favorite meadow. It had a waterfall flowing into a pool. In fact, two waterfalls, one flowing into a pool on top of the other waterfall. The breeze stirred her fur and brought along with it the scent of the Lunar flowers that dotted her meadow. She smiled and ran, the beautiful starry scent of the Lunar flowers clinging to her fur. She jumped onto the rock on top of the first waterfall and looked into the forest. She could she the faint outlines of the other Samet Lions running, jumping, and mingling. She smiled again. No one will ever be like me. She jumped down from the rock and lapped at the starry pool below. Astra looked up at the star strewn sky. Looking closely, a shooting star flitted through the sky. Her eyes lit up and she jumped up. Her dead mother's sweet voice played through her head. Shooting stars are beautiful. They are a rare sight to see. If you see one, make a wish. Soon your wish will come true. I love you my sweet child. A silent longing tear rolled down her cheek. She shook her head and made her wish. I wish that I could be like a shooting star. A rare sight to see, beautiful, cunning. I want people to like me. She said silently, her eyes squeezed tight. When she opened them the meadow around her was glowing. "Huh?" She muttered out loud. She walked to the pool and the glowing followed her. She looked down in the pool at her reflection. She was glowing. The glowing faded and she her pelt shimmered as her muscles rippled her fur. She ran back to her family and friends, all of them staring. Don't try too hard to fit in. You were born to stand out.
