I've been thinking of adding a rule about punishing (read: disqualifying) those who repost forms during the same round. So please, don't do it, unless you like disqualifying yourself. >.>;; Personal preference says no, but to each their own.

Um, I want to go for one of the characters here but I am confused about the Kennel and Section parts of the form.

Could someone please explain?

We've got two separate sections for our kennels. The kennel number is the number associated with the kennel holding the character you're going for, found in the "XX" said:" part of the quote box- either P# or F#. This is so we can allow people to go for one "common" character and one "freak of nature" (uncommon/rare characters) during the same round. [POH and FON used to be different areas.]

The section merely dictates whether the section is the common area, or the "freak" area. If the kennel number starts with a "P", it's common, or Pound of Hope. "F", and it's Freaks, or Freak of Nature.

So, if I wanted to go for the horse anthro up there, I'd put:
Kennel: P9
Section: POH.

It might make the crit staff cry, but as long as you don't overdo/abuse it.... I don't see why not. I might have to limit it at three crits per form, though, just to make it fair. The crit staff are people, too, we don't want to kill their school grades or work/family schedules. :)

Name: Tauron.
Breed: Coyote.
Age: 'Teen'; a yearling.
Why do you want this animal?&What will you do for this animal?: Whoa. Pretty much as soon as I saw him, I clicked and I'd love to adopt him. I'd totally love to continue his story; I had an idea for awhile about 'Akaaru', though I didn't really have any inspiration, characters, or even a basic idea of what is would be about or plot until I saw Tauron! He'd have a post in my char thread and possibly even roleplay with him. <3

Personality: Mischeif, a grin, and a cheerful twinkle in his eye...this describes none other than the jokester Tauron. Though his parents and the council of elder coyotes that roam his home forest of Akaaru scold him for being 'puppyish', he disregards their annoyed glares and goes right on laughing. However, he doesn't act extremely 'puppyish', as the elders describe, and often tries to keep his cool...most of the time.

Loving to roughhouse, he often challenges others to wrestle and playfight, though his slim, lanky build hardly rivals the sturdier frame of his friends, but he enjoys it anyway, often shouting out playful taunts and jokes as he does so. A skilled hunter, Tauron's long legs help him on long-distance chases through the woodland, allowing him to easily clearing fallen logs draped with moss, though he's best on open ground where there are no obstacles to navigate.

Despite being the jokester and teaser that he is, Tauron is still a great friend, fleet-footed and cheerful.

Likes: Tauron loves to joke around and laugh, and is rarely seen without a grin and a playful shine is his electric blue eyes. Though he's not exactly a...skilled fighter, he likes wrestling with his friends, and especially calling out a teasing chant while he dances from paw to paw, challenging his opponent. He also likes running, enjoying the wind ruffling up his short, dusty brown fur as his paws thrum against the mossy forest floor, sending dried brown leaves spiraling into the air behind him, and is an exceptional hunter, often providing the most prey for the Akaaru pack.

Dislikes: Carefree and easygoing, there isn't much that Tauron dislikes. However, he doesn't like being treated like a puppy, and though the elders' occasional comments on his so-called 'puppyish behavior' (most of the time spoken with a twinkle in their eye so it's to be taken as a playful tease) ruffle his fur up a bit, he doesn't let them bother him at all, knowing that their 'scoldings' are not usually serious. Despite the fact that he enjoys playfighting, he doesn't like being bossed around or un-needed violence such as pack wars, which, though rare in Akaaru, had happened in the history of the forest.

History/Backround:
Pale morning sunlight filtered through the treetops, illuminating the towering oaks that dominated the land, with carved hollows scattering among their trunks, and gnarled roots that seemed to dive in and out of the mossy earth. The rough bark was draped in sheets of elegant, down-soft dove's moss, and all around the cascading of gentle streams seemed to echo as they wove their way through the forest, calm and peacful; tumbling over smooth river rocks and stones, hued in multiple shades of cool grey. A light breeze rustled the leaves, shimmering in earthy ones and dappled in the sunlight, and swirled through the air, dancing and twirling.

To wandering foxes traveling alone, or some other creatures, (an occasional badger or such was common) passing through the wondrous forest kingdom known as Akaaru, it was a beautiful place, with winding rivers, and the comforting aroma of damp ferns and mosses. Others preferred the neighboring pine forest, hushed and carpeted with a soft layer of needles, or the wide expanse of desert, constantly warmed by the sun's blazing rays, a few days of traveling east, or the mountainous region to the west, but to the Akaaru coyotes, it was more. It was their home.

"Aww, come on, you big ball of fur
no messing around any more
'cause it's Tauron here, so listen to me
you're gonna go running, you're gonna flee!"

Eyes shining in a stunning electric blue, the lanky coyote howled a cheer, dancing from paw to paw and swishing his tail, egging his opponent on. He was rather lanky and builth slimly, with large paws and ears, as if he hadn't quite grown into them yet, though this was untrue; he was unlikely to grow any larger. His short, dusty brown fur, accented with darker brown and splashes of feathery cream gleamed in the sunlight, while he taunted the other yearling. But what was perhaps his most prominent, outstanding feature apart from his eyes, were the vibrant stripes of neon that wrapped his legs; in a shade only natives of Akaaru were known to have.

"Really, Tauron? You couldn't beat a squirrel." The other male, a sturdy, largely-framed coyote with darker grey patches and eye markings in a rather bright shade of neon green named Siku teased, and he sat back on his haunches. Turning away, nose in the air, he glanced about with a mocking dignified air and feigned licking a paw, as if he couldn't care less about the taunt. Of course, his statement was nearly accurate; at least about the other coyote's fighting skills. Siku was larger and of a sturdy, muscular build, while Tauron was a long-legged, fleet-footed hunter. And, beyond that, he was his best friend.

"Yeah, that's right, you run away." Tauron teased, eyes twinkling, knowing full well that he couldn't stand a chance in a fight where all that counted was muscle, not speed or wits. Flashing a grin, and waving his tail, he laughed cheerfully, the sudden sound sending a startled starlingwhich had been perching on the lower limb of an oak that spread out above the clearing soaring into the air, wings flapping vigorously and squawking with alarm.

Glancing back at Siku, emerald eyes meeting with sapphire, Tauron blinked at him for a moment, then burst into laughter, his friend joining in. He collapsed onto the ground, locked in a fit of giggles, until he was gasping for breath, chest heaving yet eyes twinkling with the joke.

"What are you up to?" A deep, raspy voice, hardly more than a growl drifted into the clearing, and Tauron pricked his ears, panting, and rolled into a sitting position, one paw in the air.

Golden eyes narrowed, a much-older coyote padded into the clearing where they stood, his glare sharp and piercing. His age was hard to miss; his muzzle was fading into grey fur, and he walked with awhat seemed like a permanent limp, as if favoring his right front leg. One amber eye was narrowed, and a scar ran from his eyelid to his muzzle, though it was hardly noticeable through his somewhat long, dark brown fur.

"Uh...what?" Tauron asked, still breathing hard, blinking his deep blue eyes. He was keeping his cool, though his ear twitched slightly, whether with curiousity or the fact that he was uncomfortable wasn't positive. He suspected this grizzled canine was one of the forest elders; a council of the oldest, wisest coyotes, that roamed alone, apart from when they met once every new moon. Nudging him to hint him to be quiet, Siku glanced curiously at the stranger, with a mixture of curiousity and suspicion.

"What are you two pups looking at?" the older coyote growled, eyes narrowed and piercing gold. "You're acting as if you've never set eyes upon an elder before."

"Well, it's not like every day elders come to Akaaru." Tauron replied, his voice cool. He was suspicious of this older coyote, and, though he had seen other elders before, never one such as this male. The other so-called 'elders' weren't very old at all, and had a much more friendly attitude towards others. This one...he was different. Yet...there was something Tauron liked about him, though that tiny percentage was hardly going to allow him to let his guard down.

Surprisingly, the elder hooted with laughter at the lanky coyote's response, wheezing and raspy. Incredulous, Tauron glanced at Siku, spying his own confusion clouding the depths of his friend's emerald irises. This 'elder' was unpredictable, that was for sure. The old coyote gasped for breath, his laughter sounding more like coughing than anything else.

Taking a few noisy breaths, the elder calmed his wheezy laughter, then gazed upon the two yearlings, golden eyes twinkling with amusement. "True," he rasped, "I doubt any elders of my kind have traveled these paths. But Akaaru is a land of wonder...and even some mysteries." Coughing, he sat slowly back on his haunches, then narrowed his eyes, glancing between Tauron and Siku.

"You see...long ago, before these great trees flourished here, and the oldest were hardly more than seedlings, the land was in turmoil. No, there were no kingdoms, or packs as we know it, just rogue coyotes flitting across the barren landscape, not making eye contact with any other and threatening any that dared near them. Fights broke out often, leaving many weak or injured."

He paused, coughing, and took a few wheezy breaths. Tauron and Siku glanced at eachother, eyes wide, and Tauron gazed with amazement at the old 'yote. Could it be true? he thought, flicking his ears suspiciously, Or is he trying to trick us? He opened his mouth to comment, but before he had a chance to speak, the elder's coughing fit had faded, and he had begun his tale once more.

"The coyotes knew this had to stop, more than anything else they had ever considered. Every pup, every coyote felt frightened or afraid, too worried that another may have stolen their scrap of territory or spare bits of food to communicate with others. This is when the elders, the council of wise coyotes came to be. Of course, they weren't called 'elders' until much later, since most of the first were young; some even scrawny little yearlings like you."

He glanced Tauron up and down to put emphasis on his last statement, and the lanky coyote glared back at him, eyes icy and narrowed. Much as he admired the story this grizzled old male was telling, his remarks were ruffling his fur. "Hey-" he snapped, a rebellious glint in his azure eye, but the elder glanced back at him, golden eyes piercing, and cleared his throat, flicking his ears as to continue. Grumbling to himself, Tauron closed his mouth, though he still shot an icy glare in the elder's direction. Siku gave him a good-natured shove, to cheer him up, then glanced forward as the older coyote continued.

"They called a meeting, passing word through the forests across the region, until every coyote had heard. But few listened, and only six met, on a moonless night. Howls and yelps were echoing in the distance as they gathered in a circle in a sheltered clearing to discuss. One young male stepped forward, and began to speak. A few of the others let out a low growl at his stepping up to speak first, but others didn't protest, and instead listened, ears pricked, to what he had to say. He spoke of peace, an end to violence, and suggested all coyotes living together; training eachother, hunting as one, and creating order to society."

"However, others didn't think much of the idea, and they continued discussing, and eventually came to a conclusion. Packs as we know; small family groups scattered through the many forests. But they themselves agreed to live alone, apart from others, and travel, keeping peace and speading news. This is where the five regions came in: Akaaru, Tarami, Jiiraka, Tohna, and Kuraii."

"What?" Tauron interrupted, casting a bewildered glance at the greying male. Is he just making this all up as he goes, waiting for us to believe it, then laugh and go on his way? Without saying a word, the elder pricked his ears towards Tauron and Siku, who was still standing next to his friend, swishing his tail, inviting him to speak.

"You said five coyotes; five regions. What about earlier?" he added, pausing to flick his tail before continuing, "You said six met on the moonless night, or whatever. Have you suddenly forgotten how many coyotes there were?" He ended his sentence with a sharp glance; challenging. Normally, he didn't care what any coyote said or did, but this one was positively getting under his fur. What did he take them for, a bunch of pups?

"Yes. There were six coyotes, and though they all agreed on the final verdict, only five stayed here, in the Five Regions. The other, the youngest, left to what is rumoured to be the Glittering Caves, far west of the Five Regions. Others went with him, and as legend says, they went to form what he had originally proposed...a group of coyotes, all living together; working together...living together."

He finished his sentence with a hacking cough, then, after a few moments, took a deep breath, his cough fading. Tauron still glanced suspiciously at him, and felt Siku shift his position beside him. He perked his ears expectantly towards the elder, as if waiting for him to finish his story. And that's what is is...a story for pups. he thought to himself, though he didn't admit it...he was intrigued.

"Well, what are you two pups looking at?" the elder spat, glancing from the lanky yearling to the sturdy black coyote. Incredulously, Tauron stared back, for once lost for words. "That can't be it...it can't end there." he murmured, though he felt foolish and puppyish for believing such a tale, and, as if to try to keep his cool, raised his head and took a deep breath, puffing out his chest fur.

"That's where that legend, passed from parent to pup for centuries, comes to a close. But," He paused, clearing his throat, and Tauron thought he caught a hint of a smile on the elders face as he began to speak once more, and a challenge glinted in his stunning golden eyes. "This is where your adventure begins."
