Welcome

You're soft footfalls seem to echo around you in the forest. Leaves jump out from underneath your feet with every step while you make your way down a thin and not-frequently used trail. You stop when you come across a large creek, too deep to walk through. The world around you is suddenly silent, and you know you are about to make a brilliant discovery, or something horrible is waiting for you. Ever so slowly, you make your way to the edge. A shadow at the bottom of the creek takes on an almost fox-like appearance, and appears to be moving towards you. Once it moves through the sunlight, you realize that the shadow is alive, it's a fox! Or a fox-like creature.

"Hello."
The fox is out of the water, it's coat a light blue-ish hue. It's eyes are dark and wise, and it appears to be talking to you using... telepathy? You don't know what to say. The fox walks downstream, motioning for you to follow her.

Stealing art is illegal, and is punishable by law. Any art thieves will be reported and banned from this thread.

One Adopt Per Litter
You may only adopt one river vixen per litter.

No Complaining
We try to be as fair as possible, so please do not complain. This will only make certain matters worse.

Do Not Rush The Staff
We are trying our hardest to make this thread efficient, and organized. Please do not pressure us by saying things like, "Why is this taking so long?" Remember, real life comes first.

Do Not Take Them Offsite
I would love to have people be able to do this, but all those adoptables floating around would be hard to keep track of. I ask that you keep all adoptables on CS.

Do Not Delete The Link-Back
I ask that you do not delete the link in the code that your adoptable comes with. Spread the love!

All Of Tess's Rules Apply
Just because one of the CS rules isn't posted here doesn't mean it does apply.

Strikes
Three strikes will put you on the ban list. You earn a strike every time you break a rule.
(No one has any strikes)

Bans
Anyone on the ban list will no longer be able to adopt. All of their posts will be ignored.
(No one on the ban list)

Creature Info

Appearance wrote:River Vixen are the size of the average fox.
They come in a variety of colors, from red to purple.
Their point-like feet enable them to easily travel along the sandy banks of rivers and creeks.
Their tails are thin and ribbon like. Care must be taken around them, as they are easily broken.
Their eyes are large in proportion to their heads, so they can see through the murkiest of waters.
Darker streaks of fur along their ears, face, back, legs, and tails are actually home to oil glands, which help keep the River Vixen's coat from becoming wet.
Males can be differentiated from females by a tuft of hair on their heads.

Behavior wrote:River Vixen are generally shy and timid creatures.
They survive on a diet of small fish, and shellfish. They occasionally eat water grasses to help supplement their diet.
They lure prey closer with their tails.
A River Vixen can only bond with one person.
River Vixen, while they do not care for their young in the traditional sense, will guard their "eggs" with their life.
Once their young have become active, they are left to fend for themselves.

Breeding/Young wrote:River Vixen lay "eggs" that actually aren't eggs, but small undeveloped Vixen.
River Vixen guard their eggs with their life.
The eggs must stay on the shores of the river or creek. Early removal could result in death.
River Vixen can lay up to 4 eggs.
The species does not care for their young after they "hatch" (uncurl).

Bond wrote:River Vixen can only bond with a single human at a time.
River Vixen, once bonded, will be forever faithful.
Vixen can speak telepathically to the person with which they've bonded.
Bonds cannot be influenced, so raising a baby vixen to adulthood does not necessarily mean that it will bond with you.

Foundation Vixen
A foundation Vixen is an adult vixen caught from the wild. They will be penned here for exactly 1 week before being released to the wild. If, within that week, they develop a Bond, they will be given to whom they share the bond with.

This is not first come, first served. In order to try and make a "bond" with a River Vixen, you must roleplay a post of meeting it. DO NOT powerplay the vixen. Posts will be judged on quality, not quantity. If you have any questions about this, please post here or pm me! Once a vixen has decided on it's owner, it's own RP post will be placed on the thread and the vixen is officially owned.

FORMS MUST BE FINISHED BY ...

Pound Vixen
Vixen can be surrendered to the pound through a very sad ritual called "Bond Breaking". Bond Breaking puts great stress on the River Vixen, so an understanding owner is needed to adopt. Adopting works the same exact way as above, but the Vixen's personality may be shier and less understanding than it originally was.

THIS IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.
