i've seen this done a couple times so i don't claim any credit for the idea, but basically this adoptable shop is different in that instead of me putting out litters every so often, it'll be more like an interactive thing where there are a certain number of slots and once they're all filled, you'll all be given different possible ways to explore the VR. i'll use a random generator to determine whether or not you discover a pet after whatever choice you make.
you can breed two different species together which will sometimes cause a whole new species to be born, or you can keep exploring and hope to discover new species that way, too. or, you can induce random mutations on the pets you already have by buying extensions at the shop. have fun!

VULPErarity common
first discovered by capri
the vulpe, or vulpin when plural, is the most common inhabitant of the vr, found in almost every location except high altitudes. initially, vulpin were programmed to be like dogs, but it seemed like the vr program had a mind of its own. scientists have determined that its overall anatomy is more similar to that of a fox than a dog, but with longer legs, tufted ears, a blunter, dog-like muzzle, and two feather-like ornaments protruding from above the base of their tail which are highly sensitive to the environment. however, their basic temperaments lean towards being dog-like. they can typically be found guarding buildings, herding farm animals [ except chickens ], or just being family pets. the only mutations found on wild vulpin is the growth of wings.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⧫ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
UNIBUNNYrarity common
first discovered by capriunibunnies are the result of one of the programmers letting his four year-old daughter decide what animal they should code next into the vr. they are timid creatures, and are actually capable of small amounts of magic. typically they use it to hide but once tamed they can also use it to do basic household tasks. unibunnies are quite vain about their manes and tails, and in the wild several can be found with flowers woven in. the one thing that programmers found bizarre was that most unibunnies lack ears. their horns take in the noise around them instead. they're typically household pets, but intelligence agencies have also trained them as partners to spies, because of their small size and their ability to understand and communicate in all languages.

more will be added as they are discovered
