{ Gamer girl }
This is Jen’s most important quality, for it is the one that best describes her. She will stay up all night just to finish one level in a game, and often skips mealtimes as well. She enjoys RPGs and shoot-‘em-up games, but many others as well. She is always on the Xbox I got her, and often wears a little necklace with a controller on it when she can’t play, just to remind her of it; not that she needs to be reminded.

{ Rambunctious }
I think she is so attached to gaming because she finds that it’s the only thing she can focus on. Jen has a mild form of ADHD, so she can’t focus or complete tasks without a huge amount of effort. It often frustrates her, so maybe that’s why she’s planted in front of the TV a lot, to avoid that frustration. I try to help her with it sometimes, but she’d rather it stay a battle within only her own mind.

{ Sweet }
When she isn’t screaming at someone on the screen to run faster or die, Jen is actually quite loving and kind, and even a little clingy at times. She enjoys gifting people and making their day, often just by saying kind things to strangers. She loves to see people smile, especially me. Every once and a while, she will go out of her way when she sees someone having a particularly bad day, and it always makes my day as well.

{ Wily }
Jen is also very talented in the more strategic of games, for she is very creative and resourceful. One of her favorite games on all gaming devices is Scribblenauts, because you can type in anything you want, and bam! There it is, right on your screen to interact with. You can add adjectives as well, so you name it! One day, she did Colossal Purple Kraken, and it actually worked, giving her exactly what she asked for. Here is an example, just type in iguana, and you get this~



{ Brilliant }
Overall, Jen is incredibly smart, especially in math and programming. She’s a master at hacking and modding, and can do almost any type of math problem in her head at any moment in time, like an organic calculator. She could do anything she wanted on the Internet, change anything she pleased, so I try to restrict her computer access to keep her out of trouble.

{ Picky }
When it comes to just about anything, Jen is quite the stickler. She only eats certain foods, only likes her water cold with ice, only wears certain things, and only plays certain games. If she doesn’t like something, she won’t have anything to do with it. If something isn’t exactly how she wants it, it’s dead to her. She enjoys trying new things, but won’t try them again if she didn’t like it the first time, even if it’s only a little.

{ Humorous }
Always the one the best jokes, Jen can always lighten the atmosphere of a room with her puns and cute noises, and she always has a different story of humorous intent to tell. She enjoys the jokes that end in a way you wouldn't expect, and the "yo mamma" jokes are some she likes to make fun with as well. She never says a joke with malicious intent, and always tried to keep the feelings of others in mind when making fun.

{ Competitive }
Mostly just on video games, Jen is extremely competitive; and every once and a while, it gets out of hand. Whenever someone challenges her, she will not rest until she proves her worth, and betterment always comes hand-in-hand. Just because it's what she's very good at, Jenna thinks she has to be better at it than everyone else, because she puts forth the most effort and dedication.

{ Sarcastic }
When she's in a bad mood, Jen's cute sense of humor turns to sarcasm, and sometimes, when she's in a particularly bad mood, it's not a pretty sight. Snide comments then follow, and it sets everyone's nerves on edge. Most of the time, this happens when she hasn't been able to play any video games for a while, so I try to keep it from happening. It's a big shift from her normal personality, and I fear if it happens too much, she could be permanently altered.

{ Lackadaisical }
In terms of just about anything other than video games, Jen is pretty laid-back and careless, which gives her a lazy appearance. She isn't lazy at all, she just does her best not to worry herself silly about anything, because it's not worth getting very upset about. A calm attitude towards life works for her, and of course, she always has me to look out for and help her along. She also finds it's easier for her to get something done when she doesn't focus very hard, so it helps her somewhat bypass her ADHD.

His name simply means "bright". He's named after the surfer, Kelly Slater.

Skimboarding

Skimboarding (or skimming) is a boardsport in which a skimboard (a smaller counterpart to a surfboard without fins) is used to glide across the water's surface. Unlike surfing, skimboarding begins on the beach by dropping the board onto the thin wash of previous waves. Skimboarders use their momentum to skim out to breaking waves, which they then catch back into shore in a manner similar to surfing. Another aspect of skimboarding is 'flatland', which involves performing tricks derived from skateboarding such as ollies and shove-its on the wash of waves without catching shore breaks.

Kelly has enjoyed the sport ever since he was a child, loving the sight of surfers but becoming quickly attached to skimming at a young age. It felt natural from the very beginning for him, every movement came to him at the right moment without a thought; this was a sport he was born to do. He owns several beards, but his favorite is his Industry Standard Swallow-tail, which looks like this. This is what Kelly is always anticipating when summer closes in each year.
For my art, I've made a clay sculpture of Kelly and used it to create a claymation. This shows him skimming.



I don't want to change from who I am, but I've always wanted to become more aware of what life is all about.
