Is it possible to offer two ideas? I can't choose, of course I am not asking for both but I would love either one.

Your design idea;
For my first idea I was thinking along the lines of a ghost or angel, inspired by the angels in His Dark Materials one based of that would be lovely. The tail would be semi transparent though the body would be solid. Would use silvers grey and the occasional white. It would be a swirling mist like design with maybe some white speckles. Perhaps some faded blues. It would really be up to you on this one.

My second idea, also based of the book. Would be a dog based off Dust. Dust is supposedly the substance that gives us all self-awareness and curiosity to discover more. Described as a lustrous gold the base colour would be a dark grey or black with sweeping swirls of golden dust.

Lava color/s;
As a angel/ ghost theme the tail would be opaque, various shades of grey with maybe a small splash of white as if it were sparkling.

The tail would be shades of golden through amber, it would not have the 'dust effect' (Small particles of gold) rather a flowing gradient of a few colours, it would be appreciated if the colours themselves had a swirling effect rather than a left to right gradient.

Nose and tongue color
If you were going to use a bit of blue I'd say use that however if not I would say a very dark grey colour.

Black if possible please, to match her base colour.

Addons/accesories;
Something very simple perhaps maybe a long flowing scarf but this is up to you really.

Perhaps a brown pack? As if she were travelling, she'd be a traveler at heart so anything of that sort would be welcome.

For the dust idea however, these sorts of shades is what I'd be looking for.

Your design idea; Pale blue with darker blue tiger stripes round her bottom, and some small spots on her front paws and nose. There are little green specks in random places.
Lava color/s; Different shades of green, kind of fading as they go further.
