Moon cats have pointed ears and appear, aside form size of course, identical to house cats in body structure. Moon cats are felines with almost identical bone structure as cheetahs. They are fast agile and good at climbing trees. Moon cat claws do retract but extend a great amount when fighting or climbing trees. A moon cat’s tail is unusually long and strong; strong enough to the point where they can hang from trees. Adults are never seen doing this but adolescents are often found playing in trees and hanging like bats by their tails. However, babies, or kits, cannot hang by their tails as the bone structure must mature to a certain age before it is strong enough. Moon cat paws are quite small, for a big cat; but that makes them faster and more deadly as most prey, and humans as well, don’t believe the size claw that can extend from them. Moon cats use their claws mainly for climbing, hunting and fighting. Teeth are also a hunting and fighting tool; they are sharp and if you compare a moon cat’s mouth with a regular wolf’s mouth, they are pretty close in teeth structure. Moon cat eyes are never odd coloured and often bright colours that contrast their marking colours. When a moon cat has a drastic mood change, the eyes will appear to change colour, but this is actually a second eye lid. This eye lid is clear but hollow. Behind the eyes of a moon cat there is a small sack with a poisonous liquid; this liquid is called MultiX by humans. When a moon cat’s disposition changes drastically the liquid drains into the second eye lid causing a colour-changing effect on the eyes. The MultiX when the mood relaxes to a less extreme temper. This is caused by the relaxing and tensing of muscles around the eye but I really don’t want to go into that. Many people think that moon cats have great night vision since they are felines. In a way this is incorrect; moon cats see very well in the dark, but this is also thanks to their second eye lid. Another liquid, called Luminace, which is harmless but essential to moon cats, is always covering their eyes. It is like a coating that can be rubbed off. This is the liquid that causes their eyes to glow. When moon cats' eyes glow, a light stream, visible only to them, is shown by the eyes; Luminace causes the moon cats' eyes to work like flashlights. This is only partial, you see. Moon cats have excellent night vision, aside from one catch. there must be even the slightest light. If it is pitch black they cannot see that well, that is when the 'flashlight mode' kicks in; so the Luminace is only really used in places like caves. Now, you may think that the moon marking changes colour the same way the eyes do. That is not entirely correct. Moon cat fur is actually tiny dead-end tubes that appear and feel like fur. A moon cat’s body is full of a chemical similar to the chemical in the eye sack but not identical. This chemical is permanent and is coloured by the time the kit is born. This causes the markings and fur colours. Interestingly enough, the chemical doesn’t drain if a hair is cut or removed. During the first two weeks of life, a moon cat’s colours may change and wary slightly. But after the third week, the chemical hardens into a very flexible plastic-like substance called sarsit. This causes the fur to stiffen slightly but also makes the markings and colours permanent. The moon marking’s colour, however, is not permanent. The sarsit becomes a colour but it is mixed with the same chemical that affects the eyes, causing the same colour changes as the eyes. The moon marking will be explained more clearly in the moon marking paragraph below.

The crescent moon marking is something that you will always find on a moon cat. If that marking is not there it is not a moon cat. The fir that makes up the marking, like all the other strands of fur, is filled with sasit. This sasit has a pure colour that is the marking’s base colour. The only difference here, which is the cause of the colour changing, is the fact that the sasit is mixed with the same liquid which affects the eyes. It is perfectly portioned so that when the liquid become active because of a sudden or drastic mood change, the chemical doesn’t alter the base colour of the marking. However, the marking doesn’t have the chemical Luminace. Which causes the marking to glow, it simply alters in colour till the mood eases down. The moon marking, as well as the eyes, do not change colour if the mood change is not drastic enough. It must be a strong feeling of emotion for the chemical, often referred to as MultiX, to change the colours of the eyes and moon marking.

Moon cats are naturally friendly felines. They do not trust humans easily as they are often hunted for their fur; but, if you can earn one’s trust, the moon cat will become a lifetime loyal friend and companion.

Depending on the moon cat, moon cats live in tribes or as loner families. It is rare to see a moon cat living alone. Even if a moon cat is not part of a tribe of moon cats, it will usually stay living with the family unless it gets too large. In the case of loner families, when kits are born and raised, they stay in the family till they get their own mate and branch off to start their own loner family or join a tribe. In tribes, there is a rank order which is as follows: Alpha, Alpha’s family, Alpha’s guards (two or three special moon cats who’ve been chosen to be the personal protectors of the Alpha and family), Lead fighter, Fighters, Subordinates (also hunt), Queens and Kits, Trainees (being taught to hunt and fight).

I breeding season, a tom will find a queen he is interested in and usually follow her around, so she gets used to his presence. He will attack any other tom that nears her and the victorious of the fight can have the female as a mate. This way of finding a mate is usually found in loners and loner families. Because not much studying has been done on tribes, the way that toms find queens in a pack is currently unknown but assumed to be the same.
