The Apprentice's Guide to Taming Dragons OPEN

Postby knight of time » Sun Mar 31, 2013 2:37 am

You are taking your average, everyday stroll through the northern United Kingdom, in one of the older towns there. You see a rather unique and strange shop called 'The Professor's House of Oddities' on a corner, and decided to walk in. As you do, the bell on the door rings a melancholy ring, as if it is rarely used. The shop is full of sculptures of all kinds, art, and mirrors. You look around for about ten minutes and accidentally knock down a few books. As you pick them up, a large, leather-bound book with a lock and key catches your eye. You pick it up with interest, to find that it is quite heavy. You slam it on a small wooden table. The front has gold designs on it depicting numerous strange creatures. At the top engraved in small, neat cursive it reads;

'Only one who is truly imaginative and quick-witted may open this book to find the secrets it holds.'

You tilt your head slightly, very intrigued by this strange book. Suddenly, the gold plating is hit by sunlight, and it bounces off the many mirrors in the shop, until it light the area of a shelf. Curious, you climb on a chair to look at the top, and you find a large, brass key, designed to look like a dragon. You take it, hoping this will work, and you put it into the lock on the book. The book falls open, and a note falls out of the lock compartment. You pick it up. It reads;

'Hello, my new apprentice! Now that you have opened this book, I highly suggest reading page by page, and not skipping. I would also recommend walking through the door at the back for the best experience possible.

Good Luck!'

You wonder what the 'good luck' part means, but you take on what the note says and decide to walk through the door. Before you go, though, you grab the heavy volume and the key. Then you turn the copper doorknob and light suddenly peeks through the cracks.

You suddenly step out into an entire new world. It doesn't seem a thing like where you were but twenty minutes ago. There is green grass, animals everywhere... You had never believed in magic, but this was so real, how could you not? You sat down, enjoying the sunshine for a bit, and you are dozing off when you hear a roar. You jump to your feet, startled, and you see a large, four-lehhed figure running towards you at an amazing speed. At the last second, you jump out of the way, landing hard on your back. You get up, in minor pain, just to be startled again.

You couldn't believe it. In front of you, sniffing your unfamiliar clothing, was a dragon.

You see a strange old woman in the entrance of a cave. She is holding up numerous items. You pull out some gold coins, but she holds up a finger. 'Ah ah ah... Dragon Scales are what i desire.'

This is a special Black market, where you can buy things such as growth serum, breeding tickets, et cetera. This introduces a new currency that can only be used here; 'Scales'.

Note; the pet must be on my wishlist c;

Shop

Growth Serum;
'Automatically hatch an egg or grow a hatchling to adulthood.' -20 scales
