The image you add to the 'image of pet' section must be of the one in the kennel. When the revamp goes up, you may switch it if you'd like. :]
I'll take a break from work to update the front page with the recent revamps before doing to code drop so that you (and anyone else who might be going for a recently revamped char) will be able to get the new images.

I'll admit, it's the revamp that got me. I just saw it and got that "click." It's so adorable, and it really seems to show a personality. I also simply love her colors and design; her hair and tale styles look great with her design.

I've had my characters Mavi and Maeve [nude anthros] for a long time. I've always imagined the world they live in populated by other anthros of many species, but I don't actually have any other anthro characters yet. Katica would really work well to interact with and be a friend to Mavi and Maeve and would give me a chance to further develop the all three characters and their world.

Personality:
Katica is rather naive. The town she was raised in was tiny and calm; any scandals that happened were whispered between adults when the children were playing. Katica sees things from a black-and-white point of view. To her, things are either wrong or right, and there's not any room for debate. If someone argues with her, they're more than likely to get a blink and the reply, "But it's wrong!"

Katica is also tends to be very kind. She's always afraid she's going to hurt someone's feelings because she's very empathetic. She knows she hates to be treated badly, so Katica tries her very hardest to keep everyone else happy. Because of this, she often ends up being quiet in tense situations and not stating her opinion, though she is constantly thinking.

Thinking deeply about anything, especially the future, is a rare occurrence for Katica. Although she is of average intelligence, Katica prefers to enjoy the here and now. She'd rather not bother herself about things that aren't directly affecting her or someone else.

Katica is afraid of many things: strangers, the dark, new places, other species. She tends to be fearful of anything she hasn't seen before, until she ascertained that it won't harm her. She is also shy, and has a hard time talking to anyone she doesn't know well.

Despite how shy and fearful Katica can be, she also pushes herself to overcome these traits. She hates feeling restrained by herself, and constantly tries to do something about it. Doing this, she sometimes gets over her head and has to be rescued by a friend from danger, physical or not.

Once she does know someone well, Katica loves to talk to them. She'll yammer on about any random thing until it occurs to her that she might be annoying them and clams up. She'll be quiet for about five minutes before she forgets and starts talking again.

It would be hard to make Katica dislike you. Once she's over her fear of a new person, she trusts them and assumes they're kind and care about the feelings of others, the same way she does. If someone snaps at or insults her, she'll blame herself. It takes quite a few times before it occurs to her that that might be the way the other person is, or that they might be taking their anger from something else out on her.

History/Background/Other:
Katica was raised by her mother, Halyna, and her father, Deòrs, in a small village mainly composed of Chincoteague pony equiens. Though she loved her home, one day she decided to try pushing herself outside her comfort zone again, and left. This is where I'm going to start writing.


I blinked at the sunlight filtering through the trees and looked around me. I wasn't sure where I was, and I had long since began regretting my sudden decision to leave home. Unfortunately--or, perhaps, fortunately?--I had gotten lost. As I stared at the endless trees, I began to feel as if there were creatures watching me from the branches. I hurried on, pulling the branch I had picked up as a walking stick behind me.

A noise came from the trees somewhere. Startled, Mavi dropped the piece of wood she was carving and sprang up, pointing a strung arrow in the direction the noise had come from. She stood waiting, either for prey or an intruder.

Wandering around a tree, I found a karra--the first I'd ever seen--pointing an arrow at me. I dropped my stick and sheltered my face, certain I was about to die. I hoped that the karra wouldn't eat me.

A few seconds went by, but I still didn't feel an arrow. I flinched as a voice spoke.

"Who are you?" The voice was almost a hiss.

"Katica," I replied after a second, my voice small.

"Why are you here?"

"I'm...lost." Finally I opened my eyes a crack and found the arrow gone from the level of my eyes. I blurted out, "You're not going to eat me?" Immediately I wished I hadn't said that, even before the karra hissed.

"We don't eat equiens." She gave me an angry look and walked away. Obviously I had offended her; but I'd heard that karra ate equiens ever since I was a foal. Shakily, I picked up my walking stick and stood awkwardly.

"Eat her!" exclaimed Mavi angrily under her breath. "Why would I do that?" As she continued to grumble, Maeve looked up at her.

"Well?" she asked. "What are you going to do about her?"

"Nothing. She can keep being lost."
