My my, I've never seen so appealing of a blond wolf. Nevermind final exams, I can make time to apply!
Pet's ID Tag: Kennel # 19
Name You'd Choose for It: Tikaka or “Tika” – Tikaka is a Maori word (the language spoken in New Zealand) that means to be hot, burnt by the sun. Tika received her name for her blond coat that is reminiscent of lightly burnt bread.
Gender: female
Reason You Want It:Well let’s start off with my first reason and the one that spurs me to fill out a form, she has a lovely design. She’s simple with no unnatural colors but with just enough little touches to make her unique. I love her blond colors, the different shades of golden blond make her look so appealing. I’ve always wanted a blond character ^-^; I have a failed attempt at designing a blond character that I’m sort of ashamed to show you but for proof’s sake I’ll let you see the
fail. I never lost my passion for a blond character, I was simply taught a lesson that if I wanted a well designed blond character (poor fail blond badger wolf) I’d have to be patient and happen across a character for adoption. I’m so lucky that Azalea decided to create a blond character, I’ve surfed the CS threads for months hoping someone would offer a character in lovely golden colors.
I feel that I could give her a loving home and I’m for “rescue” characters. I try to balance out my role play characters with characters that I’ve personally designed and those that others have designed but no longer wanted, I nickname those given away by others as “rescue” characters. I love taking a character that was imagined up by another artist and giving life to it. For my characters, I spoil them. I make sure each of my characters has a unique story totally unique from my other characters and possibly completely unique from any other story out there. Tika would be no exception. She’ll also receive art from me and possibly be the first character colored in my chibi wolf lines that I’ll be releasing to the CS public very soon ^-^ Aside from my own lines, I frequent the Art for Pets forum (some would say stalk) and make sure to catch as many opportunities as I can afford for art of my characters. I also intend to role play her, onexone with either role players that are seeking a mate or seeking a friend for their character. It would be a tad of a waste to come up with such an elaborate story and history for her and not role play it. It’s through role play that the colors of my characters really shine and I’m sure Tika’s personality would inspire others.
History/Background/Other: OOC: please note that I will use a lot of Maori words since the setting takes place on the shores of New Zealand. Any Maori word I use I’ll make sure to place it’s meaning in parenthesis directly afterward. Please enjoy the story!

Evening settled over Kehua Whenua (land of spirits), the last rays of the day stretched out and tried their best to filter through the thick jungle canopy. The great island wolves that governed this particular jungle had more to worry about than the darkness that crept in.
“My pups! My Tamariki (children)!”
A reddish brown she-wolf cried out from the emptiness of a den which once held her three newborn pups. Her mate, a light gray wolf with tribal, white markings, stood shell-shocked at the entrance of their den.
“Taipo (spook, unwanted supernatural visitor)! The Taipo have taken my little ones!” the mother screamed into the empty den. She curled up on the ground that still held the scent of her three pups.
The pack quickly flourished into anxious activity as the cries of the mother wolf filled the twilight jungle. Among the wolves, a
petite female ushered her way through the crowd of restless pack members. As she stepped into a weak shaft of sunlight, the rays highlighted the golden blond color that covered her right eye but didn’t cover her left eye. The two-tone pattern of her coat marked her as blessed by the ancestors as a Shaman, a communicator of spirits. The uncovered eye represented her outlook on life as a normal island wolf while the covered eye represented a tainted outlook—an ability to see into another world. The realm of the undead. No Shaman was ever born without this unique coat pattern.
“Tika! Tika!” the mother wolf exclaimed as she met eyes with the blue-eyed shaman.
“Humarika (gentle, nice), my dear mother wolf. I heard your cries all the way from the great river. What troubles you?”
Humarika had to be helped to her paws by her gentle mate. She wanted to look Tika respectfully in the eyes when she pled for her newborn pups.
“Tika, the Taipo have my pups. I know they took them! I knew I heard their mischievous laughter when I was bringing my pups into the world. They’ve marked my den and they took my pups under the cover of shadows when I had the first evening nap with my little ones.”
The pack whispered uneasily to one another. Kehua Whenua was known as the land of spirits. The great alpha
Alcaeus was the first living being to try and build a living on lands known for spirit activity. Not even jungle creatures lived in those parts until the legendary alpha took the first step. Usually Alcaeus’ celestial powers kept the spirits at bay but the great alpha had to leave the pack for the Southern side of the island to communicate with his half-celestial kin. It was a necessary trip taken every year but never had there been a new mother and pups in the alpha’s absence. These pups were late and outside of the birthing season. A bad omen indeed.
Tika closed her eyes and parted her jaws to breathe in deeply. She tasted supernatural energy, at least three distinct traces. There had been Taipo in the den.
“I can follow their trail,” Tika assured as she opened to reveal her forget-me-not blue eyes. “Don’t fear Huma, I’ll get your pups back to you.”
Humarika gave a lick to Tika’s left cheek, showing her humbleness to the shaman. “May the ancestors guide your life to fortune Tika. You’ve always been a kindly pup.”
Tika gave a polite smile, really her heart was fluttering in her chest. She didn’t know how she would convince three naughty Taipo to give the pups back, if there were pups to give, but it was expected of her from her pack.
She gave a few words of encouragement before she had to back out of the den and open her mouth to breathe in the Taipo’s supernatural trail. The pack allowed her to pass as the trail led away from the mother’s den and into the darkened jungle as the sun fell behind the earth to sleep. Monkies cried out in alarm as Tika padded under the jungle canopy, making her way deeper into the heart of the haunted packlands.
A rustle of activity moved some undergrowth to Tika’s left. Suddenly a smoky black shape rushed between some leaves before disappearing behind a vine-tangled tree. Giggles at an inaudible level to the average wolf made its way to the shaman’s special ears. Another dark shape frolicked ahead of Tika before vanishing as well. The spirits were on the move.
“Don’t you three think you’re clever.”
Tika said this under her breath as she suddenly padded off the main trail and found a unique plant. It looked similar to a poison ivy plant but with thick leaves that were a deep shade of red. Flakes of white clung to leaves but looked easily detached if Tika shook the plant too harshly.
The blond colored shaman treaded softly with the plant in her jaws, keeping to the thick green undergrowth away from the trees to hide her body. Ahead of her, three black shapes converged at the hollow of a massive tree. They looked like a cross between a fox and a cat and yet completely made from a black smoke that swirled and curled to form their semi-solid shapes. The Taipo knew the shaman would follow their trail but then, that had been the point. It was fun to cause mischief and to see what the shaman would do about their naughty ways.
Tika took her time to carefully make her way to the spirits’ hollow until she was mere feet away. The three Taipo giggled and laughed as they danced around their tree. The pitiful yelp of puppies could be heard from the inside of the hollow of their tree.
Tika bunched the muscles in her legs before she sprung at the three spirits. They cried out more in giddy laughter than alarm. They lost their shape for a moment and because wisps of black vapor. The blond shaman was one step ahead, shaking the plant she carried with the white dusted, red leaves. As the white dust from the plant filled the air around the tree. The three black vapor clouds returned to their more animalistic shapes.
“Be still you naughty Taipo, and hear me!”
Although the herbal powers of the red leaved plant kept the three spirits from vanishing, they swayed precariously on their smoky black paws—bipedal like man could manage. “So we stay, you can’t take what’s ours shaman!”
Tika gave a face of annoyance although her heart still pounded fearfully. She dropped the plant by her paws and then fixed her blue eyes on them.
“You’ve had your fun. You’ve taken those pups and scared their mother. Give the little ones back to me.”
“Ha!” the three Taipo spoke as one. “Silly shaman, too easy of a journey for you. Too easy.”
“What could three Taipo want from the living?”
Tika did not like how the three spirits stood on their hind legs and the unnatural grin that looked too large for their smoky faces.
“We want nothing,
you want something!”
“Alright, what must I do to get the pups returned to us?” It was always best to speak bluntly and directly to the undead. There was very few attention to give once you cross to the other side.
“What!” one of them repeated back at her as if to mock her request.
“What!” said another.
“you can’t take our yelpers. We’ll trade them to the soul harvester for shiny trinkets!” The last exclaimed.
An idea seeped into Tika’s thoughts. Perhaps she could rescue the pups if she used her wit against the soft mind of the undead.
“Shiny trinkets you say? You won’t get very many for those meager pups. They were the weakest of our pack. How lucky you three didn’t claim the greatest of our babies.”
The three Taipo had an expression of confusion and then greed.” You nasty wolves! You hid the greatest from us.”
Tika turned on her paws and looked as if she were about to leave. “Well, you can have those three. I only took this journey incase you had our most powerful little one but I don’t hear his unique cry.”
“We will trade!” the three said together. “Take these three yelpers and give us the great one!”
Tika shook her head and actually padded away a few steps.
“We will keep away from your pack if you give us the great one!”
This made the shaman stop. She gave a satisfied grin with her back still turned but she composed her expression into a serious one when she turned to face them again.
“You’ll stay away as well? Very well you can have your great baby.”
When Tika moved to collect the three puppies in the hollow of the tree, the three Taipo crowded around in angry clouds of black smoke. They could easily send the puppies to another area of the jungle if Tika stressed them too much.
“How do we know we will get our end of the bargain, shaman? Our word is binding but yours is not.”
“Simple, I will leave the puppy in a bundle of leaves at the edge of our pack lands. When you take your bundle, send the three puppies to their mother. Keep them here in the hollow until you have what you seek.”
The spirits gave a grin of pleasure and nodded their heads in the same moment. “Go go! Get the pup ready and we will give you these yelpers.”
Tika looked the spirits in the eye. “I have your word you will give us the three pups back to the mother when you have your bundle and you will stay away from our pack lands?”
“Yes! Yes!” they all shouted in unison.
She smirked at them and nodded. “very well.”
Tika made her way back to the pack lands. Instead of returning right away, she remained gone from the pack until the moon was high in the night sky. When she finally returned Poor Humarika cried out in alarm when she spotted Tika with a bundle of leaves that squirmed with the movements of something hidden inside.
“My little ones! Where are you going shaman?”
The mother was frantic as Tika dropped her bundle at the edge of camp and not at Huma’s paws. Three dark shapes materialized in front of the shaman, three greedy grins stretched wide across their smoky faces.
“Here is your baby, as payment for the three pups that you stole and the promise that you will keep away from here.”
Such greediness washed over the three spirits that they immediately pounced on the bundle and gathered it to them.
“Take the yelpers! We got what we wanted” the three said together.
Huma gave a shout of happiness as the sound of three yelping puppies could be heard from her den. The three spirits vanished into the air with their prize. Some of their faint laughter hung in the air even after they were gone.
“What baby did you give them? There are no pups besides Huma’s,” an elder of the pack questioned their blond shaman.
“I said I would give them a baby and a great one at that. They’ll find that in their bundle of leaves is the babe of a common jungle monkey. The offspring I found was much bigger in size than our pups. It is indeed greater in size.”
“Very clever shaman, you’ve saved our only pups.”
Tika gave a sigh of relief and lowered to her haunches. She was tired after chasing down a troop of monkeys and then stealing one of their squawking babies. She smiled at the elder that spoke to her and nuzzled the underside of his jaw to show respect for his elder rank.
“It’s my duty as shaman. Luckily the Taipo can’t break their promises but that doesn’t mean they can’t tell other naughty spirits about my trick. We may have trouble yet.”
OOC: no one worry about the baby monkey. The three spirits got bored of the little guy and left him for his troop to find him c: the baby is safe and sound.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it. I understand fully and will take full responsibility for Tika.
Permission: as
promised.
All finished c: thank you to all judges that will take the time to read over my form. I know it's long but I felt Tika deserved a rich and hearty story.
