As the others have said, you may only adopt one character a week, and we do not mail anybody. It is your responsibility to be here for the code drop if you tried for a character and you wish to know if you won it. =/

Pet's ID Tag: 80 (Changed from 113)
Name You'd Choose for It: Metronome
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: I want to adopt Metronome because even though she is a simple character, she's very pretty, and I've fallen in love with her.
History/Background/Other:
(This has some weird words in it because I was doing my English homework at the same time, and I decided to combine the two, so it has my vocab words in it)
My father used to always say, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself." But in those days, fear had run awry and no one could quite place a finger (or paw) on why none of us were scared. You might think it would be a happy time, but it was a time of worry. It was as if the emotion had left us, which it had, but everyone was too ignorant in those days to actually realize that. We were all full of useless fluff in those days, and no one had the brainpower to think on even our easiest problems. It was a time when mournful dirges were playing in all of our heads, imagining the day we’d die. We never thought about anything else, really, we were all caught up in the fact that someday, we wouldn’t exist anymore. No one was scared, of course, because no one could be scared when fear wasn’t there, but we were all worried, caught up in the fact that the messenger of death would come to beguile us into his Underworld, with his stern countenance and his strong smile. And it seemed that everyday, there was some discourse on how to avoid death. They were often heated (though the ideas were simply idiotic), so I was sure to keep out of the way. After all, quite a lot of damage could befall a young wolf pup wandering awkwardly around. My mother kept me close at that time, making sure I was expressing the right gesture of obeisance in the presence of the more important, because in that time, the hierarchy was everything. It was an ominous time, too, when pallid faces of the very worried appeared around every corner, waiting to see the messenger of death. But undaunted, one wolf decided to provide us surcease of our worries. He was no craven, I’ll give you that, but I’d never have picked him to do the job of rounding fear back up. My mother tried to entreat him to stay, but he would not, saying, “I will bring you all back fear if it’s the last thing I do.” It turns out it was the last thing he’d do, but when the messenger of death came, he was ready, and our world was restored as it was.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.

Name You'd Choose for It: Hyäne (Hya for short. Pronounced: 'H-i-ya')
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: When I was browsing through all the donations, I had no intention of adopting/going for anything. I was simply curious. But when I scrolled down and saw this Hyena, I couldn't stop coming to look at her. She's gorgeous. Every time she has caught my eye. So i decided to go for her. She is going to get so much art it isn't funny. *serious face*
History/Background/Other:
Hya opened her eyes in an instant. She could still hear the echoing of her words to her soulmate and best friend. Her.. former soulmate and friend, that is. She could feel that unexplainable feeling in her chest. She felt.. Empty. Betrayed. Lost. And all because of a stupid holiday. She remembered it so well. It was still fresh in her mind. Halloween..
Yes, animals too, celebrated Halloween. Just like these humans. She always watched them, always laughed with her friends at the silly humans. Celebrating in such a weird way, that they knew they didn't even know what they were celebrating anymore. It was just another day for free, brightly colored pieces of food, making weird crinkling sounds. She despised that sound. Anyway, it was Halloween, and all the little human's kits were running around, dressing in unusual clothes, representing things that Hya didn't care or know about, pressing their grubby faces to the glass that separated her from them. Hya and her best friend, Nay, were getting ready to celebrate Halloween. Traditionally. It was a simple event, it was all about getting together and celebrating another year of their great ancestors of the animal kingdom, getting together and agreeing to have peace with each other. She didn't understand these humans, and she assumed they didn't understand the real concept of Halloween. But now, on to what happened.
Nay and Hya were pacing across the small hole in a large rock. This is where they got food. Hya never really likes being fed. She missed the thrill of being able to run after her prey and catch it, or gulp down the remains of someone else's prey, staying on alert in case another hungry scavenger stronger than her came along. She grinned at Nay. Tonight, would be epic. Although she couldn't shake away the feeling that something bad was going to happen. She sighed and shook her head. How could she be so silly? Nothing bad was going to happen. As she paced, she watched all the little kits as they pressed their noses against the see-through wall. "disgusting." She thought to herself. Finally she heard the grumble of the door opening, and the clatter and skid of the metal pan as it was pushed under the door, and to Hya and Nay. As they took the meat into their jaws, Hya drooled. They weren't supposed to eat until midnight, but she was starving. She sighed and tried not to think about it as they walked towards the end of the habitat.
And that, was when all hell broke loose. You see, as they prepared and waited, pacing. Back and forth.. Back and forth.. Something strange happened. She had this weird sense of.. betrayal. She tried shaking off the feeling. But it just kept coming back. Finally, Hya couldn't take it anymore. She had to put her mind to rest. So she decided to make her rounds around the habitat. She steadily trotted around, checking everything out casually. She grinned at the other Hyena's, nodding and walking by, when she saw them. Nay and her crush for 2 years, Bry, sitting there. Just sitting there. But the aura of these two, was what set her off. Nay knew that she had fallen in love with Bry. She knew. Yet she took the only opportunity that Hya had to get close to him. Hya held back tears as she slowly backed away, not wanting her presence to be known. She would get revenge.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
