She often has a following of small children/creatures around her since they love her as much as she loves them. Akia also can't stand to see any injustice done, if she sees anything she doesn't agree with, she will be right in the middle of it trying to stop it. Evil doers beware.

Akia is Octavius' mate. While they are very different in many ways and he originally found her to be quite a handful, their love hate relationship eventually turned into romance. Akia is a good foil to Octavius' ego as she regularly brings him down to size and never holds back a criticism she feels needs to be shared. Octavius and Akia are the kind of couple to have loud and heated arguments quite often as they both have very strong personalities, but in the end they find their relationship stronger than ever. They are both united by their love of small/cute things, but they don't really see themselves having kids just yet.

you may or may not know, but i LOVE zebras. okay? they are simply the cutest animals ever! i love their stripes and their simplicity. but they can also be complicated. is it black with white stripes or white with black stripes? sometimes their stripes can be brown and no two zebras have the same markings. anyway, onto why i chose number 41. as soon as i saw it, i said to myself : 'hmm, hey, why aren't there loads of people applying for this beauty?' and felt kind of sad for her. yes, the other lab dogs are AMAZING (omg 43 and 44 *dies*) but this beauty is here too. she is just so simple yet amazing. brilliant designing. i know i say this a lot, but i really do mean it.

Name: Striscia

striscia is of the italian language. at first, i was thinking of naming her something more plain and less meaningful, like stripes, greyscale, opal or hallow. i thought over the following names induvidually and decided that these weren't suited for her. they were just too normal and boring. yes, opal and hallow seemed quite good, but to be honest they didn't seem to fit her at all. so i decided to search zebra into other languages (because of her design and a little of her personality x3). at first i didn't have much hope that this would work. most of the time you get the same name for the animal again and again, but i found the name striscia. i thought this was a beautiful name. not only does it flow nicely and sound really pretty, but it also has a little bit of meaning. it means stripes and zebra and most of all, telephone. at first i frowned. 'what? why would zebra and telephone have the same meaning?'. and then it struck me. this name was perfect. you'll see in the personality, don't worry! ;) but striscia is a beautiful name and goes so well with an equally as beautiful design, am i right?

when striscia was very young, her mother and another female were friends. as they were friends, their mothers grew them up together, basically forcing them to be friends. her mother's friend named her pup meenah. the two girls didn't particularily like each other. well, at least that's what they thought. meenah just thought of striscia as a friend. nothing more. just another dog around the place who would be bothering her. another one who wanted to be her friend when all she really wanted was to be alone and travel the world. see everything that could be seen. adventure was what interested her! not some stupid petty friends who would just waste her time. she wanted to see everything. meenah would often not really listen to striscia at all, not bothering to initiate conversations or considering her thoughts at all. but striscia put up with it. you know why? because striscia was in love with meenah. okay okay. your going to find this wierd. a girl fancying a girl? yes. love comes in any shape or form. meenah's thoughts about adventuring and seeing everything that could be seen intrigued striscia. everything that she said, even though it wasn't much, was interesting and striscia wanted to know more about her friend. meenah never knew anything about this until one day striscia told meenah some news. she wanted to run away from their stupid mothers who just kept them in the lab, doing nothing but letting them play around. striscia wanted to see the world like her. when meenah heard the words come out of her mouth, she was instantly listening. they made plans, found out ways to get out, but most of all, they bonded so much over that time. meenah didn't think of striscia as another nothing anymore, but as an actual friend. possibly a best friend. she was the only one she had, so it was possible. on the night they escaped, it was the best night they ever had. meenah and striscia travelled all around the country, seeing everything! they laughed all the time, were the best of friends, doing all sorts of things in different places. but eventually, this had to come to an end. striscia grew tired of knowing that she couldn't keep up her act of meenah not knowing her love for her. she accidently did things that a couple would do and rested her paw on her's, resting her head on meenah's. meenah got supsicious as to why she was acting so close. 'it must be because we are the onky friends we have in eachother' or 'just friends' she would say to herself. but one day, when they were about to go to sleep, it all changed. striscia told meenah. everything. why she wanted to run away. why she wanted to see the world. because she loved her. she wanted to see meenah happy. meenah was just shocked. she didn't know what to do. so she ran. she ran away and never came back. striscia was left. alone. she had been rejected by her only friend. the one she loved. striscia was terribly sad for ages. she couldn't move most days, only making effort to get food for herself, and even then, she didn't eat much. she grew thin quickly and decided things needed to change. she went back to the lab, found her mother, and started again. other dogs asked what happened to meenah. she lied. she always did. saying that meenah met another guy and decided to go off with him. everyone believed her. but she'd always remember. she'd always remember her love. as others started to not care about meenah's dissappearance anymore, striscia started to get a little better. try'd to make new friends, try to forget and tried to make an effort of not acting miserable. So she started just talking (here's where the telephone comes in :D). She talked to herself and others around her about just plain random things. 'Oh who made this lab?' 'Where do you come from?' 'What have you eaten today?'. Striscia became known as a major chatterbox, and by some, she was classed as a nutter. she'd just talk and talk until she could take her mind of meenah. when she'd try to get to sleep, she'd never be able to do it, most likely getting only about an hour or two. the reason being because she'd think about the way meenah just ran. she never even got a response. striscia will often try to hold back tears a lot. but when she just can't hold them in any longer, there are loads and loads of waterfalls. she'll shove people away when they try to comfort her because they just don't know anything. there is only one thing that can keep her talking and chattering away to herself rather than be silent and never talking to anyone again. the fact that it could be possible that meenah could love her back. it was possible. yes, she never said yes, but she didn't say no.
