Nari foxesSpecies Information
Nari foxes are small magical creatures that are able to control the elements around them and hover around like little fairies. The foxes grow to be about the size of a full grown fennec fox, maybe bigger, but never larger then the red fox. They have sleek bodies with short silky fur and a long, bushy tail. Their legs are thin and not well-muscled as they don't usually walk unless they're weak or injured, as flying takes an enormous amount of energy.
Nari foxes are constantly eating to keep up with all the energy they burn throughout the day. A Nari fox will eat ANYTHING; bugs, small mammals, reptiles, birds, plants, any type of human food (with a specific love for sweets), Fire types have even been known to eat small rocks and pebbles as their hot internal temperature can digest such things. One thing they CANNOT stomach, however, are sky berries. Sky berries grow on small bushes and are named for their color, a pale sky blue in the spring that eventually turns dark blue near the end of Summer. All types of Nari foxes, even poison, are affected by the berries, eating these are lethal.
It is true that they can 'fly' but usually no more then five feet off the ground. The are excellent climbers though and can still reach tall heights with ease. When a Nari fox is injured or weak (whether it be sickness or hunger) they usually walk, as they lack the energy to fly. They are quicker then a normal fox but extremely vulnerable, larger earthbound foxes are aggressive and territorial towards Nari foxes and will attack without hesitation. Dogs and cats have also been known to attack weak Nari foxes. Foxes with human companions are much safer if they somehow get injured or sick.
A Nari foxes front paws are closer to a racoons then a fox, the toes are larger and able to grasp things, another noticeable difference in these unique creatures are their large eyes, which they can see excellently from. Their hearing isn't that strong at all so they depend mostly on sight and smell, and even their sense of smell is weak relative to the common red fox.
Element types
Fire (Common)
Fire Nari foxes are sleek and fast (with the exception of earth/fire types). Personality wise they are commonly mischievous and short tempered. Once a bond is formed they make loyal traveling companions and are very protective of the human they bond to. They usually travel alone or in pairs and get along well with dark and mechanical types. Another common trait in Fire types is the fact that they hold grudges and do not forgive easily.
Earth (Very Common)
Earth Nari foxes are stealthy and strong. Personality wise they are loyal and wise. Earth types are almost always friendly and trusting and make bonds easily, even if they do not stay with a specific human they are known to show up in a friendly manor, seeking the company of others and often times doing little tricks for food. They are very easy-going and relaxed most of the time. They get along with all types of Nari foxes and commonly travel in groups of other earth types ranging from 2-6 individuals.
Water (Uncommon)
Water type Nari foxes are slight and flighty. Personality wise they are generally very shy and easily scared. Water types are slow to trust and usually stay hidden in the bodies of water where they live. If you can get them to come out and are willing to spend lots of time working on gaining their trust they make very loving and loyal companions that will stick with you even during the hardest of times. They travel alone or in pairs with other water types. They get along well with Earth types.
Air (Rare)
Air types are sleek and gentle. Personality wise they are very playful and light, they are often found playing games of tag in the air and can fly higher then average foxes, about 30 feet. These foxes are hyper and always wanting to play, they are bold usually and will sometimes approach humans in a friendly manor. They very rarely get mad and make entertaining companions. They get along with anything that will tolerate them.
Dark (Very Rare)
Dark types are stealthy and quiet. Personality wise Dark types are watchful and secretive. The term "dark" covers a wide array of fox types including but not limited to; Poison, shadow, psychic and dark. Personalities differ greatly within this element and not much is known about this secretive fox. They are assumed to travel solitary and are rumored to be attracted to those with darker personalities, this is not known for certain. Sometime seen with fire types.
