Kirin's name: Fantôme {meaning phantom, shade, ghost, etc.}
Gender: Male
Age: Seventeen years
Height: 14.3hh
Writing: In this world, there are tales of wonder, imaginative heros, bravery, love and the brilliance of life.
And then there are the opposing sides, those of shadow, fear and anger, the lowest villan and the fiercest dictator.
Fortunatly, this tale is one of the former sort, a story woven from the scraps of dreams found in a calf's mind.
Many don't wake at dawn, as it's a very early time to be concious at. The few that do either have children or are one. Unfortunatly for her, Fantôme's mother had herself a young bull who, like many others his age, rose before the sun did. A small head connecting with her side, bleats and pleads and a few nips got her moving in the morning. Fantôme on the other hand, needed nothing to get started, he woke from his slumber in joy, the time of day made no difference to him. This just happened to be one of those days.
His day started of normally, a wake up call to his mother before light, prancing around her legs while she grazed and he nursed, and watching the sun rise. However, this peace was soon to be broken. Wandering off by himself, Fantôme discovered something new: a cave. Of course, what calf could resist?
The instant he stepped in, Fantôme was in awe. Fantastic shafts of light danced around the cavern as if they had wings. Colors burst from midair like firecrackers, and even as he stood there, they crowded around him. The lights fell over eachother like puppies, each vying for his attention in a different manner. Lifting up his masked face, Fantôme nudged a particularly small but bright one up, sending it soaring up towards the ceiling of the cave. A smile lit up the young Kirin's face, and he pranced farther into the stoney cavern happily. The lights followed him, tickling Fantôme's nose, ears, and neck as they brushed around him in their strange dance. THe young Kirin played with the lights, joining them for one magical afternoon. But as the burning sun sank lower into the sky, casting huddled shadows over the wall, the lights, one by one, flew out of the cave, until he, Fantôme, was the only one left. Hearing his mother calling to him, Fantôme stepped out of the cavern, the past few hours buzzing through him mind.
Of course, his mother fussed over him, and worried where he had gone and such. None of that mattered to Fantôme, as he was still with the lights, and his mind constantly wandered with them as the herd moved itself into nighttime.
Many years later, Fantôme would wonder about the lights. He had gone back once, to the same place that he had found the lights before.
And yet, there was nothing.
And yet, he still believed.
