Her colours reminded me of these flowers and her long tail seems more resemblance of this orchid (a tall flower) than any short kind of flower. She loves this kind of flower because she is extremely proud and thinks herself most beautiful, just the same qualities, as the orchid. Tall, beautiful, elegant and exotic.

Answer: Narcissus Echo loves the narcissus flower because it reminds her to appreciate real love, which can often be messy & untidy, rather than something as superficial as the thin veneer of physical appearances.

Her sad, wistful beauty reminds me of the legend of Echo & Narcissus. Echo was an overly chatty young nymph who annoyed Juno so much that Echo was cursed to only be able to repeat the last few words of another's sentences. Echo fell hopelessly in love with a very handsome, but cruel & selfish young man called Narcissus who was quite literally unable to love anyone.
