The Faerie Garden-- Under Reconstruction!

Oh dear, someone help me please! They're into the strawberries again!

Just what is into the strawberries you ask? Why him and his fellow miscreants.

Them pesky fairy dragons can't seem to learn to stay out of the garden. Perhaps you'd like to take one off my hands? They could always use good homes, I promise they don't bite!

Oh but of course you know nothing about them. It's like my mother always said, learn about the pet before you get the pet. However else could you know how to take care of them? Here, read this; *she shoves a much worn leaflet into your hands*

Fairy dragons reach maturity after approximately 4 years, one year of which is spent in a cocoon formed from their Life Shells. At that point they lay eggs and those eggs then hatch into young fairy dragons, or Catagon's. (The only way to get a Catagon is buying a custom growable, or being lucky enough to find an egg during a Search)

Fairy dragons are mischievous and curious creatures. These small dragons are often found in gardens and nearby structures where they wreak havoc. They don't do it intentionally, they are just naturally curious about everything and so get into everything.

Keeping one as a pet is as much a good choice as it is a complicated one. Fairy dragons keep away pesky insects and are loyal friends to their keepers. However, the keeper has to put up with the mess they leave behind in their daily adventures.

So, the older woman asks with her hands on her hips, think you want one of the beasts?

There's only a few rules to keeping one!

*she directs you to a wooden sign propped up on her garden shed*
LAWS

Laws and the Keeping of Fairy Dragons
- No claiming the lineart, art, or anyone else's Fairy Dragon.
- These are only to be used on Chicken Smoothie, don't let me see one off site, I will pursue as if you stole it.
- Please be patient, customs take time and so do the bi-weekly garden cleanings.
- You can only claim one Fairy Dragon in a 24 hr period. Exempt are customs.
- Please no spamming, I'd like to have this thread open, not locked.

I reserve the right to deny any application for a Fairy Dragon and to add further rules to this list if they are needed.

*You walk back to the old woman who is now chasing several dragons out of her shed*

So, you've read the rules, do you still want one? They're plenty of fun when they're not gallumphing around.

SPECIES

Alright then, let me tell you what you can expect to see species wise. There are so many varieties!

The Standard Species: Most of us just call them Norm Phase or Plain Phase. They're the most common and come in various shades of green, brown, and gold. You can find them practically anywhere in the garden. Their eyes are always bronze.

The Shade: Most of us refer to them as "Shadows" since they're so elusive and all. They're uncommon and come in colors ranging from black and purple, to grey. You mostly find them in the tool shed or in the rock wall. Their eyes are always silver.

The Vesi: Another uncommon dragon. They can be found in colors of blue, white, black, green and sometimes red. Though red for one of these water Dragon's is rare. The best place to look for them is over by the koi pond. Their eyes are always blue.

The Draco: This fiery species comes in the colors red, gold, black and grey. They have the worst sort of tempers. Their temper tantrums make them easy to spot, so they are fairly common. Never look for them near the koi pond, they're terrified of water. Their eyes are always gold.

The Spirti: These elusive dragons are the rarest of all of them. They dress in pale, somber colors. On rare occasions, you will find a white Spirti with a brilliant color pattern. But I've never seen one myself so I think they're a myth. Their eyes are always milky in color.

Wild Dragon's: These are custom made Fairy Dragons. They themselves do not have a species. They can be of any color and pattern.

Occasionally we find a new species in the garden. It's not unheard of, maybe you'll help us find another?

Final Note On Adoptions
If you find for some reason that you no longer want your Dragon, please message me with the image of the Dragon. No need to tell me why you don't want it anymore, but the Dragon at least deserves a new home.

Also, once you adopt a Dragon please save the image to your computer and reupload it in your own image site. Whether that be photobucket or tiny pic or whatever. I will eventually delete the image from my photobucket. Don't fret if you lose your Dragon! Message me and I'll get it back to you.

CUSTOMS

Not happy with the selection in the garden? Oh, there's a few that have taken up roost in my attic. They're so different from the rest that they just want to hide up there. Why don't you go find one? But wait, I can only let three people up at a time!

CUSTOM FAIRY DRAGONS
It usually takes 7 days of constant wheedling and bribing to encourage a Custom Dragon to come down (make). There's a cost but it's nothing scary. It all depends on what you want in your custom. Also, please upload the Dragon to your own photo image account when I send it to you. Unless it's growable, in which case it will need to stay on my photobucket for it to work.

COST

Basic
Simple design and shading. No line art change: Any rare from this year.

Ultra
Medium difficulty design and shading. No line art change: Any rare from 2009, 2010, 2011.

Pro
Complicated design/shading. Line art change. Growable: Only wishlist pets.

Custom Form

Code: Select all
Username:
What's the design?: Ref sheet would be nice but I can go with very detailed explanation.
Basic, Ultra or Pro?:
Any change or addition to the lineart?: Note that this auto makes it a Pro level if you chose yes.
If so, what changes?:
Growable?: Note that this auto makes it a Pro level if you chose yes.
If Growable, what color do you want the Life Shell to be? And what symbol should be on it?:
What are you offering?:
Which artist do you want to do the custom for you?: Do you want Riverspell or Hi Crazy or Ivylight to color your dragon?

You will have to send me or Hi Crazy or Ivylight a trade with the payment before we will message you the completed Dragon. Don't worry, I won't accept the trade until I've sent the message. I'm trying to make it fair for both parties.

GARDEN SEARCHING

Eager to have a Fairy Dragon of your own but don't want to wait for the Garden Cleaning? Want some fun items? Then all you need to do is Search the Garden!

Everyone gets one search a day. You have a random chance of gaining one of several items or, if you're very lucky, a Dragon Egg.

Items

Shovel: Allows you one more search a day. Can only be used once.

Pickaxe: Allows you to search the Rock Wall for gems.

Sparkling Rock: Increases your chances of winning over a Fairy Dragon. Can only be used once.

Apple: Can be used on the Standard Species for an instant adoption. Can only be used once.

Pear: Can be used on the Shade Species for an instant adoption. Can only be used once.

Raspberry: Can be used on the Vesi species for an instant adoption. Can only be used once.

Cranberry: Can be used on the Draco species for an instant adoption. Can only be used once.

Koi Fish: Can be used to bribe the Cat so that you may search the Teahouse. Can only be used once.

Marbles: Marbles are the currency in the Garden. You can find anywhere from 1-50 marbles in a single search. They are used to buy gems and decorative items for your Fairy Dragon. Marbles can also be gained from encouraging other members to adopt their own Fairy Dragon or by selling items you find in the Garden.

Dragon Egg: Very rarely, you might find a growable dragon egg!

Note: Not all searches will give you an item. Sometimes all you will find is dusty cobwebs and dirt. Don't be discouraged!

Places That You Can Search

The Koi Pond: A small pond located by the Teahouse. Sparkling Rocks are common here.

The Rock Wall: A rock wall surrounds the whole garden. Many things get lost in the crevices here. What will you find?

The Herb Garden: A small plot near the back of the house. Raspberries are common here.

The Apple Tree: A crooked tree that shadows the koi pond. Apples surround it's base.

The Strawberry Patch: A favorite haunt of many fairy dragons. They enjoy the sweet fruit and the low laying leaves help hide their eggs.

The Teahouse: Located beside the koi pond, it is fiercely guarded by Tom the Cat. You may only enter if you have a koi fish.

The Garden Shed: A rickety building in the far corner of the garden. Tools abound here.

SHOP

Have some marbles weighing down your pockets? Maybe an item you found but no longer want? Then the Shop is what you need! The price next to the item is also how much you can sell an item for. So, a Pear is 500 marbles, you can sell one to the shop for 500.

You can also trade and sell items with other members. Like say with Wands, since there's only one per person you may want one of the other Wand Opals, you can trade Opal for Opal.

For items that can be equipped, such as necklaces and bracelets, send me the image of your fairy dragon in a PM and I'll modify it so that your dragon is now wearing the item.

For necklaces and bracelets, you choose the color and for the necklaces, the charm.

Items

Shovel 1,000 marbles
Pickaxe 100 marbles
Apple 500 marbles
Pear 500 marbles
Raspberry 500 marbles
Cranberry 500 marbles
Koi Fish 500,000 marbles
Necklace 2,000 marbles
Bracelet 1,000 marbles

Gems

You can search for these in the Rock Wall with the pickaxe. Or, alternatively, buy them.
Gems can be used multiple times.

Exempt to this rule are Opaque Gems which shatter after their first use.

Opaque Gem (Good for one Simple Custom) 500,000 marbles
Emerald Gem (Increases your chance of finding fruit) 1,000 marbles
Sapphire Gem (Increases your chance of koi fish) 1,000 marbles
Diamond Gem (Increases the number of marbles you can find to 1-300) 6,000 marbles
Fire Opal (Allows your dragon's to breed, they will lay one egg) 500,000 marbles or 1 rare pet

Gold Opal (Creates a Winged Cat) Only available with a Wand.
Dark Opal (Creates a Hellhound) Only available with a Wand.
Rain Opal (Creates a Dunicorn) Only available with a Wand.
Silver Opal (Creates a Mystic Koi) Only available with a Wand.

WANDS

Wands are gained after you gain access to the Teahouse and you answer two very simple questions.

Wands may only be used once every two weeks. This is because these Opal creations should be rare and not running rampant.

Wands give you access to a unique Opal. There can only be one wand a person and there's no trading a wand. So If you want a different Wand Opal, you'll need to trade for it or pay another person marbles for one of there's.

These are the available Wands:

Oak/Pheonix Wand: When used it summons a Gold Opal. A Gold Opal can be used to create a Winged Cat.

Holly/Hurrok Wand: When used it summons a Dark Opal. A Dark Opal can be used to create a Hellhound.

Sugar Maple/Unicorn Wand: When used it summons a Rain Opal. A Rain Opal can be used to create a Dunicor.

Blackberry/Hippogriff Wand: When used it summons a Silver Opal. A Silver Opal can be used to create a Mystic Koi.

When using a Wand, post this form:

Code: Select all
What Wand and Opal are you using?:
The date you are using the Wand:
What do you want the animal to look like?: Please be very descriptive so we can get this right.
Which artist do you want to color it?: Riverspell, Ivylight, or Hi Crazy
Would you like to donate?: Since these are technically Customs, a donated pet to the artist would be nice but it's not required. =)
