(Ohh! I know loads of things about horses, so this should be fun for me! :D)
Name: Belleze
Gender: Mare
Species: Horse
Description: Belleze is a sleek black mare, standing at 16.4 hh She has small ears for such a big horse, with the smooth gait of a paso fino. She does not hold much pride for herself and has much self pity. This is the result of living with a rather rude man who is never sober.
Gentle bells rang and hooves clip-clopped across the gravel.I chewed on the bit restlessly as I shook my mane again, setting the sounds of bells off even louder than before.I was getting restless with my owner who, as most men of his age, had been drinking. He stunk of beer, making me wrinkle my soft muzzle and turn my lips up.I pranced to the side as I watched him, my ears drawing back."Stop it ye useless lump" he muttered to be untying the reins from the metal ring hanging off a wall. This was the final straw.I reared snatching the rope from his hands, before throwing my head high to ensure he couldn't reach the reins again.Turning quickly, I galloped on leaving my owner in a state of dust and anger.I galloped on through the small village, not knowing where I was headed. All that was on my mind was getting away from that horrid man.
Soon the hard gravel turned to soft grass, a relief to me.I could not run any longer. It was now dark, I was almost invisible to all human eyes that my owner had probably sent to search for me.My front legs buckled beneath me as I finally gave way to the pain.I lay in the darkness un-moving and lonely. How could I survive this nightmare? Nothing but the thought of death rang through my mind that night as I fell into a deep slumber.
The thing that woke me the next morning was the birds singing, and something tickling my muzzle.I opened my eyes to see a small grey creature sitting at the end of my nose.I nickered weakly and the creature jumped up, scurrying away with fright.I sighed and slowly got up, though it took me a few tries. It seemed every muscle in my back and legs were straining, though I had to carry on.I managed to choke down a few mouthfuls of grass, though I wasn't in the mood to eat. Then I was on my way again.I could see nothing ahead of me except long pastures that seemed to go on forever. It was so lonely, so endless, so... free. How far I went I did not know, though it must have been a while before I finally realized I was alone.I stood listening to everything around me.In the distance I could hear the trickle of a stream, and a nightingale sang in the trees nearby.Had I finally gotten away from him? I had also noticed, to my greatest joy, that I had stopped aching now.I found the strength to trot once more, and I no longer dragged my hooves along the ground. With my head and tail held high, my aches cured and my courage returned to me, I trotted on firmly.
A few days had passed, when I heard the noise I had longed to hear for a long time- soft hushed voices, or loud cheerful ones.I threw my head up and whined with delight as I began to canter forward, passing two large iron gates. The path was beautiful- there were large oaks sheltering me from the sun and primroses growing tall and bright on either side.Roses grew along the back row of the primroses, lifting my spirits even more. Then I froze staring straight ahead. There was an alter with creatures of all shapes and sizes, and there in the center the most magnificent creature of all.He talked of my own kind- horses. My large black coat made me easy to spot among the crowd and it made me nervous. With a deep breath I walked forward.
"Hello, I hear your names Aruc?" I nickered bending my head down to the little faerre with respect."My name is Belleze, I am proud to be at the service of such a beautiful young gentleman." My ears flicked forward eagerly as I began to talk to him."I have traveled far and wide- I thought I had no hope left until I saw you" I snorted a little sadly."You see, my human treated me terribly.I escaped his evil clutches and now I would like somebody to share the rest of my life with" I began slowly, explaining my journey to him.Once I finished I looked at him with my pleading eyes."I would be honored, sir Aruc, to have you travel with me" I nickered."I could take you anywhere, from the busiest towns to the quietest woods.I may not look like much, but believe me.With a little grooming you and I could make the perfect pair, you would be the center of attention mounted upon me." I smiled softly before I began slowly backing away, making sure not to bang into anyone."I am eager for your decision" I nodded with a sparkle in my eyes.
