Two pairs of eyes looked out from the dancing shadows just outside of the torch light. The first, were small and colored a deep crystal blue, were dead locked on the small mound of fluff atop the alter. The second, a dark milky red gazed out at the teeming masses that ringed the stage.
“
Well Sodora,”
The voice was feminine but heavy with a thick unplaceable accent.
“
Your traditions here, much mirror those of my own kind.”
A light laugh escaped the small pasteline Faerre,
“
Ah, but it tis true! Though, unlike yours, my kind are approached whether we wish it or not.”
The large white Ahz turned her milky gaze down to the small creature.
"
One day, I shall show you Ahzen, but for now, I find I am much more intrigued by your world."
Sodora nodded slightly at her new found companion's comment, true, she did want to see the world that had ousted the beautiful female, but there was much more for her to do here. Her eyes found their way slowly back to the Small Faerre Pippa. She was young, and naive, but the fact that she had found her way here, and approached the alter without known hesitation, showed she had a brave heart. A slight smile played across Sodora's features, though, one so young would need a guiding light, someone to lean on when things got rough, and someone to protect her from the worlds worst ills.
Sodora's Gaze once again fell on Shiiva, The albino-like Ahzenai had been young once, as young and naive as the little Faerre upon the stage, but one simple choice shattered all she had ever known, and got her chased out of the land she had grown up in, and ousted, shunned, by her own kind. Her friend knew all to well, the consequences of such a choice could have.
Sodora looked up to see a few strangling humans and other creatures alike had begun to approach the young female on the stage. Sodora watched each possible wooer carefully, Her maternal instincts judged each person, but each one seemed to come up short in her eyes. None would be bale to guide a young Faerre well enough. And slowly Sodora's mind began to make itself up.
Rising to her paws she began to trot out towards the stage, she paused only slightly when Shiiva's husky voice rang out behind her.
"
Is it normal for one so young to come to the stage here?"
"
No"
Sodora's reply was short, but held no sarcastic air. After her short pause, she continued on towards the stage.
Sodora's light smooth gate did not come to a stop until she had crested the top of the stairway. As always she was filled with the nostalgic feelings and lost memories of her own night, not too long ago on that very stage. Flicking her tail slightly, she abaited the thoughts, this was not her night, It had already passed, to night was dear young Pippa's night. And, Sodora could only hope, the young Faerre would choose well. With a low bow towards the young Faerre, she began her speech.
"
Greetings young Pippa. I am Sodora. I have heard your call and wish to offer you something no other here can. You say you wish to dance for royalty, but what about a god?"
Sodora paused to take a breath before beginning anew.
"
I am one of a motley group of travelers, poets, and scholars. Most of us are immortal, as in, we will never grow old, and never die. Granted, If you choose to leave with me, you will be given the opportunity to also become immortal, there is a price to pay, but you need not worry about that as of right now, you are young, and I will not deprive you of your youth so soon."
Sodora sat back on to her haunches, her look thoughtful.
"
Not only do I offer you the possibility of dancing for a god, or goddess, but I also offer you the opportunity to learn from the best, and most ancient teachers of the art of dancing. You say you have learned all there is to learn from the teachers here in vinara, were I am going there is a wealth of knowledge in the arts, and people to each you things that you had never dreamed of."
Once again she paused, It would most likely be best not to overwhelm the small faerre. So smiling sweetly she continued,
"
Well my young sister, I can offer you much. If you come with me, many new worlds open up to you. You will tread a path a rare few in this world have the chance to. Granted, I know you are young, and this may be a bit overwhelming to you, but remember I will always be by your side. A shoulder to lean on, and If you wish it, a paw to help point you in the right direction."
Sodora bowed once more before descending the stairway and trotting off into the dark.
