Charlotte was never the most popular girl around. She was pretty short, around five foot three inches, and at the age of twenty-two, it was extremely doubtful that she would end up growing anymore. She had wild, curly, thick hair that was long and rolled down to the middle of her back, and was extremely noticable, being a fiery shade of brilliant red. Her skin was pale, an ivory shade almost, and she never appeared to tan, while her eyes were a bright emerald green. She was currently wearing a pair of dark, flare cut blue jeans with a dark green silk blouse, and a pair of matching green converse.
Poor Charlotte had been on her own for several months and to be quite honest was lonely. She had always had an adventurous spirit, and her older sister had started traveling with her about three years back, to 'keep her safe' she had said. It had been the most fun and quite likely the best time of her life, exploring the world, finding new places and learning about their culture, their past, the creatures who lived there. Plus she had been able to share it with her best friend in the world, her older twin, until...
As she approached the magical city known as Vinara, Charlotte shook her head lightly to clear it of the thoughts of her sister, and could not help but slowly knaw on her full, pink lower lip as she noticed how many people were lined up for their chance to woo the current Faerre at the altar. Making her way to the end of the line, she could not help but feel overwelmed by the sheer amount of people, for it was far more than she had expected to be there, but why was that? Gently, she tapped on the shoulder of the man infront of her, who turned around with a deep frown on his face and nearly seemed to growl at her, "WHAT!?" The red-head could not help but slightly wince, yet she kept her cool and gave a slight smile to the man. "Excuse me sir, but can you please tell me why so many people are waiting in line for the current faerre? Is there something special about him/her?"
The man scoffed at her, his eyes widening as if completely scoffed at her statement, and his hand raised slightly before he clenched his fist, as if he were trying to keep from slapping her. "Only the very first pair of Faerre twins at the altar TOGETHER, willing to go possibly seperate ways but also wishing to travel together if they find the right companion. Only an idiot wouldn't know that." And with that statement, he simply turned around and ignored Charlotte again before she had a chance to respond.
A slight gasp escaped from the girl, her eyebrows raising in disbelief at the statement of the man. Why.. That was impossible, wasn't it? For two sibling faerres to be at the Altar, at the same time, and be willing to go to the same partner? Why, if she was honored enough to win the affection of them both... It would be the best thing to happen to her in years. Especially because the two faerres were twins, just like her and her twin Scarlett. She easily could connect with their bond and decided right then and there that if the pair willed it, she would take them both with her, for she would hate to seperate them, knowing herself how painful it would be to be apart.
As she got closer and closer to the altar, her thoughts began to stray to what she should say and how to act. The nearer she got, the more she could hear the pair of twins speak, and slowly, she got close enough to see them. The blue one, Ewel she believed, was simply stunning, dark blue like the night sky with yellow streaks like shooting stars. He also very much reminded her of the lost city of Atlantis, for some reason or another. He was definately the more confident and outgoing of the two brothers, striding right up onto the Altar without a second thought. His twin brother, Lewe, was much more soft-spoken, not really shy but just quieter and maybe a tad bit calmer then his brother. His golden pelt with beautiful purple markings reminded Charlotte of the Native Americans, who used colorful paint to paint tribal designs on their horses. Both were equally stunning and lovely Faerres, and she could only hope and pray that they would like her enough to become her partner.
Slowly but surely, time went by, seeming both to fly far too quickly as well as drag on forever, until finally, Charlotte was standing just about two or three feet infront of the altar. She took a soft breath to calm herself as she gave a slight, polite bow, before raising her green eyes up from the ground as she straightened back up again. Her eyes met both Ewel and Lewe's, a calm expression on her face along with a very slight smile before her pale lips parted and she began to speak in her silky smooth, yet soft voice. She already knew that she would only have one chance, one tiny itty bitty chance, to impress both of the twin brothers, and she was determined not to blow it.
"Hello my dear Ewel, Lewe. I must say, I was quite honestly shocked when I found out that you two were going to be up at the Altar at the very same time. Certainly a first for the faerres, plus, with you two being twins and all, it makes the experience all the more special. As far as I can gather, Ewel, you are the more confident one, the younger twin who enjoys rough-housing and exploration. While Lewe is older, making him act just a tad bit calmer, much more relaxed about the things that he does and what brings him pleasure. And I am hoping that I am correct in this assumption." Charlotte nervously knawed on the bottom of her lip as she took a brief moment to pause, breathing deeply before she spoke again.
"Let me introduce myself. I am Charlotte, and if it is difficult to tell," She pulled her bright red hair away from her ear, showing a very clear point to her ear. "I am of the Elven Race. I'm from a very secretive kingdom, far from Vinara, but I actually no longer live there. I've been traveling the world since the day that I turned eighteen, which was three years ago. But I must be honest, I am a very friendly person, and there was simply no way that I could be on my own for who knows how long. So my twin sister, Scarlette, who was actually older than me by twenty-three minutes, which she never let me live down, decided to come with me. Now, it is very uncommon for one of my people to leave our home, but I was never happy there. They were very careful about who, and what, came in and out of the kingdom, and you rarely saw any creature that wasn't an Elf. But I wanted to learn about every specie that lives on this planet, for I was always a bit too curious, according to my family. But my twin sister decided to come, not because she was interested really, but because she wanted to keep an eye on me, apparently. Every single place that we went to, we stayed for no less than three weeks, so that we would have enough time to have fun as well as relax and learn. The thing is, we ended up having the time of our lives together, until recently..."
Charlotte's voice started to crack, and she lowered her eyes for a moment, blinking rapidly to force back her tears as she took several deep breaths to calm herself, clearing her throat before speaking again. "My sister got into an.. Accident of sorts, if that is the thing to call it, for her death was not on purpose. It was terrible storm but we had gotten into a fight over something little, something stupid, I honestly don't even remember what it was, it was that miniscule. And yet I was so angry and worked up over it, I was screaming at her and calling her all these nasty things, and I just bolted out of the house we were staying in, right out into the thunderstorm. She came after me, worried about me, afraid I'd get lost or hurt, and in the process of trying to find and save me.. She was struck by lightning, and was killed that very moment. I never even got to say goodbye, and I've been living with the guilt that her last memory of me was me yelling at her."
"Since that day I have been on my own, and so I decided to come to this marvelous city to seek out a companion of your species. And then I find the two of you, and my heart just told me, you cannot allow them to be seperated. For you both may not think of it as such a bad thing, but I guarentee, just wait a month, or even a few weeks, and you are going to miss the way you constantly got on each others nerves. You are going to be thinking about them twenty-four/seven, each and every one of your memories with them is going to fill your mind. So please, honor me with the great gift of being blessed with your companionship, and I promise, you will not regret it. May your futures, you paths, be forever blessed." And with one final bow of her head, and one tiny smile, the fiery elf backed away, leaving the Altar and begining to leave, murmering a silent prayer that the two faerres would be blessed in life.
