I plop my heavy bags onto the watery pieces of wood that serves as the dock. After an hour and a half on a rocking boat rolling up and down with every crest in the waves, I'm not happy. But finally I'm here and I made it alive. And the only thing that kept me from staying at home the entire summer? My mom. I know. Some don't have one, others yet are dead,in the hospital, ect. Except my mom was never around. Outdoors is her passion. So when she got a job as a forest ranger at some island in Michigan about 7 years ago,we weren't surprised. Mom packed up her stuff and left. Dad still cleans her room, and goes to work, and stuff like that. But mostly my older sister Erin takes care of me and does stuff Dad doesn't. She's going away too, only she's going to be a counselor and stay near the camp she's going to work at this summer.A wrinkled finger wakes me up from my nightmare. Only I'm living it. I turn around and see the captain of the boat. "Keep it moving Missy, keep it moving." he says.
